Position Summary

The Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) is responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) chamber. This role ensures client safety, regulatory compliance, proper documentation, and exceptional client experience while operating within established medical oversight protocols.

The CHT works collaboratively with medical oversight providers and SIX28 Wellness leadership to deliver hyperbaric therapy in accordance with safety standards and spa policies.

Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical & Safety Oversight

Screen clients for contraindications prior to treatment

Review intake forms and obtain informed consent

Monitor clients during hyperbaric sessions

Maintain continuous observation during treatment

Recognize and respond to adverse reactions or emergencies

Follow established emergency protocols

2. Chamber Operation & Technical Duties

Operate hyperbaric chamber in accordance with manufacturer guidelines

Perform pre-treatment equipment safety checks

Monitor oxygen flow, pressure levels, and session duration

Document treatment settings and session notes

Conduct daily chamber cleaning and sanitation

Perform routine maintenance checks

Maintain equipment logs and inspection records

3. Compliance & Documentation

Maintain accurate client records in EMR or booking system (Vagaro)

Ensure compliance with state and local regulations

Maintain CHT certification and CE requirements

Adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality standards

Follow all SIX28 SOPs and medical oversight protocols

4. Client Experience

Educate clients on benefits and expectations of HBOT

Provide pre- and post-session guidance

Ensure comfort and luxury spa-level service

Collaborate with team members for integrated wellness plans

Qualifications

Required:

Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) credential (e.g., through National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology)

Current BLS/CPR certification

Experience operating hyperbaric chambers

Strong understanding of safety protocols

Preferred:

LPN, RN, or allied health background

Experience in wellness or integrative health setting

Familiarity with soft-shell chambers (if applicable to SIX28)

Physical Requirements

Ability to assist clients in and out of chamber

Ability to sit/stand for extended periods

Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations

Pay scale:
$24-$28 hourly
