At 1st Care At Home, we are dedicated to promoting health and wellness in our community. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a crucial time to remind everyone about the importance of early detection through mammograms.

Mammograms can save lives by detecting cancer at an early stage when treatment is most effective. If you haven’t had yours yet, now is the time!

This month, we also honor the memory of those who have bravely faced breast cancer. Their courage and strength inspire us every day. We remember the mothers, daughters, coworkers and friends who have been touched by this disease, and we stand together in support of those currently fighting.

Join us in spreading awareness, scheduling your mammogram, and honoring the lives of those we've lost. Together, we can make a difference! 💝

I'd say feeling blessed is an understatement! Today, August 1st, 2025, our family-owned, veteran-founded, locally operated business is 40 YEARS OLD!

On August 1st, 1985, we opened our door for the first time with just one employee to provide Personal Care, Home Health, and Hospice services. Fast forward to today, the team has grown to 240 employees. Operating from three offices located in South Boston, South Hill, and Lynchburg, we continue to provide the same high-level home care services across 13 counties in Southside/South Central Virginia.

To our staff - You guys are the reason why we've made it this far! It takes a FULL TEAM of Nurses, Therapists, Admins, Social Workers, etc. to truly care for our patients within all of our communities.

To our patients - We are deeply grateful for you allowing our team to come into your homes to provide care. Thank you for trusting us with your Personal Care, Skilled Home Health, or Hospice needs.

We have gathered up some photos over the years and have included them within the post. Even though we can't show you all the in-home specifics of care, we can show you some of the staff who have helped us along the way, as well as our continued building and technological updates.
