Statement from Lynden Manor regarding COVID-19
With sorrow and concern we are informing the community that one of our residents has been confirmed to be ill with COVID-19. She is in isolation and all precautions are being made to ensure resident and staff safety.
We are working closely with the Washington State and Whatcom County Health Departments and rigidly following all guidelines and directives. We want to let you know steps we have taken to protect our patients, their families and the community:
For the last three weeks we have been monitoring the residents for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 or other symptoms. Anyone with a mild fever of as low as 99.0 or above have been asked to self-isolate in their rooms. Each phase of procedures issued by Governor Insleeβs office or the CDC has been implemented immediately. The Health Department approved our multi-shift dining measures that created proper social distancing, and now all of our residents are eating in their rooms. We have been taking the temperature of all staff at the beginning of shift and all residents daily to watch for the earliest of symptoms.
Should any further cases be confirmed, we will continue to isolate all residents until the Health Department determines it is no longer necessary. Residents exhibiting symptoms will be treated with the utmost caution and will be tested for the illness.
Residents should not leave the facility for unnecessary activities and non-essential visits are not allowed in the facility. We have communicated with our residents about the confirmed case and will continue to communicate with them and their family members regarding the status of any illnesses or any concern for their loved ones.
Members of the media, community or family or friends of residents are asked to call 360-354-5985 with any questions.
