✨ TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY: BILL ✨

"It was 2019 and my back was in a lot of pain. I was wondering if I was even going to make it to retirement. I was pulling muscles and suffering from back pain all day, every day and was refusing to resort to surgery. A friend of mine suggested I try yoga. It took me two weeks to build up enough courage to walk through the doors of Yoga on Main. After just the first few classes, I noticed a difference and started feeling better. A month later, I was feeling back to my old self. Yoga also helped ease my asthma symptoms through deep breathing exercises and now it has become a non-issue. I have been hooked since my first class and have been consistently doing yoga now for over 7 years!

I will never look back. I fell in love with yoga at Yoga on Main. Everyone is so wonderful and welcoming every time I walk through those doors. The owner, Heather, and all the instructors are so positive and truly care about everyone who comes in. YOM treats people like family. I am so grateful and blessed to have them in my life. If anyone suffers from chronic back pain please give yoga a try. I love YOM!"

✨ TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY: MELISSA + HOPE✨

Meet Melissa and Hope! If you see one at the studio, chances are the other isn’t far behind. Melissa took her first class in 2018. It all started when her son’s pitching coach told him he needed yoga over Christmas break. He asked her to find a studio and go with him. She thought it would be a great way to spend extra time together and maybe tone up after losing 12 pounds that year.

After her first class, she was hooked. Yoga is the only exercise she’s ever truly stuck with. Eight years later, she’s maintaining a 40lb weight loss, and at 53, she says she feels stronger than she did in her 40s. Yoga clears her mind, keeps her healthy, reduces her back pain, and challenges her to push herself while also teaching her grace. Along the way, she’s discovered she’s stronger than she ever imagined, both mentally and physically.

After years of encouragement from Melissa, Hope reluctantly took her first class in 2021 and she’s been hooked ever since. Yoga was the first type of exercise that truly felt like it fit. It didn’t feel forced or intimidating, it just felt right. Throughout the seasons of life, difficult times, happy moments, and everything in between, yoga has always been there meeting her exactly where she is.

Two years ago, Hope made her health a priority and has since lost over 150 pounds. She is currently working toward her 200-hour YTT certification and hopes to begin teaching at YOM. Her passion is simple: yoga is for everyone regardless of age, size, ability, or whatever might be holding you back. All you have to do is show up.

Best of all, they get to share their love of the practice together. One of their favorite things to do is visit studios all over, laying their mats down and practicing side-by-side wherever they go.

So grab a friend and roll out a mat. You never know what kind of story it might start… Because that’s exactly how this one began🩷 🧘‍♀️ 🖤

✨ TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY: RAECHEL✨

"HEY YOM I miss you sm 🖤. Let’s chat ! Some may know, as I have chatted about my health journey in between classes along the way, but in 2024 I had a total reset of… really everything and ended up losing 85 lbs.

I truly believe everyone’s path to being healthy is personal and subjective. For some it’s about flexibility, meditation, toning, hitting macros etc. for me I did want to lose weight and I did want to be in shape. Everyone’s goals don’t have to look the same! I woke up Jan 1 2024 and said okay… let’s do it. And man the first 3 months was hell.

I was totally retraining my habits and my body to make different choices. Many times I’d be crying in my car before the gym bartering with myself to simply go inside. I felt uncomfortable, I felt like I was too far gone and I could feel the weight of work I needed to put in to be happier within myself and my life… that feeling was weighing me down (literally).

The gym alone was not my speed. I needed a time on my calendar.. I needed an appointment with my future self. So I started looking for local classes, that’s how I stumbled upon YOM. YOM was the true catalyst for me to crush every single goal I had (with pairing tools along the way).

I started in the back of the room barely saying hi to anyone.. dreading anything body weight like planks or down dogs because I simply couldn’t. Over the weeks, I kept going. And all of a sudden I could do those things! With modifications. And my mat started to inch up in the room. I knew more names. I kept going. And I solidified “my spot” in the front under the heater. I now said hello and chatted with the others in the room. I kept going.

And in 2025 I received my training and began to teach at YOM. Now my mat was right in front. And I knew all names (or tried to 😉). YOM has benefited my body, mind, and heart equally. You can visually see the bodily effects, but my heart and mind have had just as much of a transformation. Yoga, Pilates, and sculpt will be life long practices for me! I will forever be thankful to Yoga on Main for having such an impact on my life. 🖤"

Class for a Cause🤍❤️

Next Friday from 6–7pm, we’re hosting a special donation-based class at Yoga on Main to support an incredible mission.

Our very own community member, Samantha Capriotti, is a co-candidate in the Student Visionaries of the Year campaign benefiting Blood Cancer United (formerly LLS). This 7-week campaign brings teams together to raise critical funds for blood cancer research and their goal is BIG: $110,000.

This cause is deeply personal. Samantha’s grandmother was diagnosed with leukemia in 2020 and was told she may only have a few years to live. Because of continued research, she found a new daily chemotherapy pill and is now almost in remission. She is living proof that funding research changes lives 🤍
