💙 You’re Not Alone: September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month
If you’re struggling with thoughts of su***de, please know that your life matters. Help is available, and healing is possible.
🗨️ It’s okay to not be okay. Your feelings are valid, but they don’t define your worth or your future.
💔 As Nurse Practitioners, many of us have been personally affected by su***de. We’ve lost patients, colleagues, friends, and loved ones. We understand the pain and the importance of support.
🤝 Reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness. Here are some ways to get support:
1. Talk to someone you trust - a friend, family member, or mental health professional
2. Call the National Su***de Prevention Lifeline: 988 (24/7, free and confidential)
3. Text HOME to 741741 to connect with a Crisis Counselor
4. 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️ Reach out to a Nurse Practitioner: We’re here to help, listen without judgment, and provide professional care
🌟 Nurse Practitioners Can Help:
• We offer compassionate, confidential support
• We can assess your mental health and provide treatment options
• We can connect you with additional resources and specialists if needed
• Many of us offer telehealth services for convenient access to care
• We bring both professional expertise and personal understanding to your care
🌅 Remember:
• These thoughts and feelings can pass
• Treatment can help
• You deserve support and compassion
If you’re in immediate danger, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
You are important. You are loved. Your life matters. Don’t give up - there is hope, even when you can’t see it right now. As Nurse Practitioners who have seen the impact of su***de firsthand, we are committed to supporting you on your journey to healing.
