👋 Meet Steve!..
A year ago, Steve was navigating life after a total knee replacement, complicated by multiple infections, resulting in prolonged hospitalizations, and followed by a major loss of independence. When we first met him, he was using a wheelchair for all mobility and needed significant help just to transfer safely...
Today, he’s back to walking independently, working part time and climbing stairs with his Wellness365 personal trainer who shared this awesome video with us (along with Steve's personal request to add the rocky music to go along with it!) ..
Steve worked incredibly hard through physical therapy, and when insurance-covered visits ended, he wasn’t done. He transitioned into our Wellness365 program to keep building strength, balance, endurance, and confidence — focusing not just on function, but on overall health, wellness and physical resilience. ..
Steve’s story is just one example. Every patient journey looks different — and we’re proud to have built a practice that can meet people where they are, and work on the things that matter most - to them...

🎁 Lift Smart: Bend at your hips and knees when lifting boxes, luggage, or gifts, keep items close to your body.
🧍 Mind Your Posture: Long drives, flights, and couch time can strain your neck and back. Take stretch breaks often.
🧊 Watch Your Step: Slippery sidewalks, icy steps, and cluttered floors increase fall risk, slow down and wear supportive footwear.
🧹 Decorate Safely: Use a sturdy step stool or ladder, avoid overreaching, and ask for help when needed.

Winter is a great time to move your body and have fun outdoors, but colder temps and slippery conditions can increase injury risk if you’re not prepared.

✨ Winter Sports Safety Tips:
🔥 Prepare Your Body: Build strength, balance, and flexibility before jumping into winter activities. Strong muscles help protect your joints.
🤸 Warm Up First: A quick 5–10 minute warm-up gets blood flowing and reduces the risk of strains.
🛡️ Use Proper Gear: Helmets, pads, wrist guards, and well-fitted equipment go a long way in preventing injuries.

So much love and gratitude for my team! (re)Sharing a picture from our annual holiday party this past weekend - and a couple of fun stats on the 'growth of our influence' I shared with my team during our toast:

✅ In 2020, my first employee and I were able to help 24 patients.
✅ In 2021, I hired a few more and number grew to 119.
✅ In 2022, we continued to grow steadily and we served 312.
✅ By 2023, we finally brought on a practice manager and even more staff and helped 436 new patients.
✅ 2024 was HUGE and we hired another 9 clinicians and evaluated 528 patients.
✅ This year...2025...we continued to grow and year to date, we have evaluated 565 patients. (By the way, this doesn't even include the clients in our wellness program!)

That is a growth of our influence of 2,250% ( ).

Want to count how many we also help through our community fitness classes? Teaching an average of 50 classes a month, with an average attendance of 20 per class each week adds an additional 240 people helped each week. That count included, we have grown by 30 FOLD since inception.

I spoke at our holiday party about the impact of small actions. My small action of starting a solo provider practice has SNOWBALLED to this - helping over 800 people per year to age well, live optimally and recovery from injury and illness. Together, we are changing healthcare one patient at a time - and helping each other become better clinicians, trainers, managers and humans along the way.

💥 Plyometrics for Older Adults? 💥

We know power training is hugely beneficial for older adults, but what about plyometric exercises, jumps, hops, and explosive movements? 🏃♂️💨

A recent 12-week study compared:
🏋️♂️ Plyometric training
💪 Resistance training
🚶♀️ Walking programs

Results:
✅ Plyometric training improved jump performance, stair climbing power, and lower-body power, often outperforming resistance training and walking.
✅ Strength gains were nearly as high as resistance training (~23% for plyometrics vs ~25% for resistance training).
✅ Walking alone led to minimal strength or power improvements (~3%).
✅ Programs were safe when supervised, though some participants experienced mild muscle strains, highlighting the need for proper progression and supervision.
