Happy Presidents’ Day from Allcare! 🇺🇸
Fun fact: No pharmacist has ever been President of the United States…
But if there were one, our Pharmacist Ben Clark would definitely have our vote. 🗳️
And yes! We are OPEN today and here to serve you! 🇺🇸💙

If you’ve been in our pharmacy recently, you’ve probably noticed this sign hanging in the back.
I get 1–2 questions about it every week. Visitors take pictures of it. So, I figured… why not share it.
The first thing we did when we started was hang this sign on the wall, not just for our team, but for me.
Because culture doesn’t happen by accident.
It always starts with leadership.
In a world where it’s easy to blame, easy to complain, and easy to focus on what’s wrong… we’ve chosen something different.
We choose gratitude.
We choose accountability.
We choose not to be negative.
Everyone who walks into a pharmacy is going through something.
They’re sick. Or someone they love is.
They’re worried. Tired. Navigating insurance, diagnoses, uncertainty.
If we can offer encouragement, calmness, and hope, sometimes that matters just as much as the prescriptions we fill.
We don’t get it right 100% of the time.
But when we don’t, we own it. We fix it. We grow from it.
Because that’s the kind of healthcare this community deserves.
Sorry for the long post!
– Pete

If you’re covered by the State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) and take a weight-loss medication (like Wegovy or Zepbound), a change is coming.
Starting February 1, 2026, SHBP will require these medications to be prescribed through 9amHealth in order to remain covered. Participation in their weight-management program will also be required.
👉 Coverage is continuing, but action may be needed before your current authorization expires.
As always, our team is happy to help answer questions.

Proud of our very own pharmacist Mary Nagel, for representing Allcare Pharmacy on the SECCA Healthcare Advisory Board.
Pouring into students, strengthening healthcare pathways, and helping shape the future of care in the community that has given us so much. 💙💊
The SECCA Healthcare Department hosted another successful advisory board meeting today to review updates and discuss ways in which the board can provide guidance on planning and implementing new initiatives!
Lauren Allen, Healthcare instructor, outlined the following goals for the advisory board: Enhance pathway completion rates among students, increase professional healthcare certifications among high school students (e.g., CNA, CMA, PCT, EKG technician, phlebotomy, with potential future expansion to Pharm. Tech), boost student enrollment in the SECCA healthcare pathway, facilitate connections between students and potential employment opportunities, addressing critical healthcare needs in the community, and foster the development of high-quality, competent healthcare professionals to improve the community's future healthcare workforce.
The SECCA Healthcare Department would like to thank Georgia Pinestraw for providing lunch!

New year often brings higher out-of-pocket costs — and GLP-1 medications can come with serious sticker shock.
GLP-1s can be a great option for many patients, but understanding cost, coverage, and support matters. With guidance from your provider and pharmacist, patients can make informed decisions about their care.

Allcare Pharmacy and Healthcare Services was founded on January 4, 1999, by Trent Akins and Robert T. Driggers. Together, they brought to the business more than 35 years of combined retail and hospital pharmacy experience.
Beginning with just seven employees, Trent and Bert quickly recognized the need for a durable medical equipment division, which they began that same year. This division of Allcare Pharmacy and Healthcare Services provides home healthcare items such as hospital beds, custom wheelchairs, orthopedic products, diabetic supplies, and more.
Thanks to phenomenal growth, by 2002, Trent and Bert realized that in order to better serve the needs of the community it was necessary to build a new facility to accommodate a rapidly growing pharmacy, separate compounding pharmacy, a medical equipment division, and more than 20 employees.
Groundbreaking began for the new facility in July 2003, and on January 26, 2004, Allcare Pharmacy and Healthcare Services, with more than 30 employees, opened the doors to the new facility now located at 112 South Oxley Drive in Lyons, Georgia.
The rapid growth and progress of Allcare Pharmacy and Healthcare Services as a leader in the healthcare community is due in large part to a strong commitment to put the needs of their customers and patients FIRST! Allcare Pharmacy & Healthcare Services will put your needs first, too! We are ready to serve you today.
