Amy Lowell LLC: Occupational Therapy & DIRFloortime Providing individualized care to neurodivergent kids and support for the people who love them

For over 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working as an occupational therapist, dedicated to helping children and their families thrive. My passion lies in supporting kids with a wide range of neurodivergent profiles through a compassionate, individualized approach. As an Expert-level DIRFloortime® clinician and a Training Leader with the International Council on Development and Learning (ICDL), I teach both professionals and caregivers about the transformative power of relationship-based, developmental interventions. My toolkit also includes certifications in the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) and the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT), along with advanced training in pediatric trauma & attachment support through ATTACh’s Level 3 occupational therapy program. At the heart of my work is the belief that collaboration and connection between providers and families create the strongest foundation for growth. Outside of my professional role, I’m also the proud mom of two energetic, wonderful kids—an experience that keeps me grounded (and frazzled!), gives me real-world perspective, and continually reminds me of the joys and challenges of parenting.

It’s a familiar move in classrooms and clinics alike: a child walks in and before anything else, we need to “get their body organized.” (Organized… how exactly?) So we reach for the usual suspects—squishes, squeezes, weighted vests, joint compressions, heavy work—and call it propriocepti...

The Whole Brain Child by Dan Siegel is a great book. Even better….a summary of the most important points! Print it out and stick it in a high traffic spot to remind you how to support your kids.
