In honor of Valentine’s Day, our lovely residents were spoiled by the dining department!

Fluffy pink waffles, a build your own omelette bar, napkins in the shapes of hearts, fresh flowers on every table , and spaghetti with housemade sauce and hand rolled meatballs to top it off.

Not only was love in the air, but also in their bellies. We hope everyone had a very Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️

Happy !! This week MTPR is happy to highlight our partners at Oakleigh of Macomb!!

They are great supporters of our Macomb Township Senior Center and have helped us put on events and programs like the Spooktacular Luncheon, Euchre Parties, the Detroit Tiger Tailgate Lunch and more.

Nothing excites us more than the opportunity to celebrate one of our residents, especially for their 100th BIRTHDAY! 🎉

The beautiful, talented, sweet as can be, Gina celebrated the start of her 100th year! Saying the secret to her longevity was being in show business where she would travel around the country and perform with the USO as a dancer.

In addition to being surrounded by friends and family, Gina was inducted into the to the Macomb 100’s club, received a certificate from congress, a proclamation, a gift box full of USO items, and a personal video from the 2026 Miss America!

We are grateful for those who help us make days like this possible! Mark Hackel, Kerry Jantz, Kim, Muhammed, Miss America 2026 Cassie Donegan, the USO, Tom, Alan, and of course the Oakleigh team!

We had a full house today for our monthly ladies club! This month’s theme was: Sip & Dip!
🍪🥂🥯🎉
We had a charcuterie style spread of different flavored pretzels, crackers, chips, and bagel crisps to pair with four different dips.

The ladies also enjoyed two different mocktails and we baked cookies during the event so they got to finish off with a hot chocolate chip cookie.

We love to host activities in our building, but we also venture out to our local senior centers too!

Our Sales Director, Kyla, hosted a fun winter craft at the Shelby Township Senior Center with our co-sponsor, HOME Senior Movers!

We do events like this on a regular basis so even if you’re not ready to move in with us, you can always join us and get to know us through these fun events!

🎉🏆 Community Excellence Award! 🏆🎉
We are so excited to be the recipients of this annual award for Best Assisted Living for 2025 from the Next Steps 4 Seniors group!

This award is is a full team award as it is determined not only by the experience the company has working with us throughout the year, but also with the families that they help place in our community and their experience here after months of calling Oakleigh home.

We were told the vote was unanimous for the first time ever and we are so proud of this team and the effort they put in!
Here’s to another year of improvement, growth, and opportunity as we continue to strive for excellence. 😊

Well, we may not be great at remembering to take enough pictures, but we are pretty great at hosting parties!

Grateful for not only our team for hosting over 150 guests for a delicious prime rib dinner, but also for the wonderful residents and families who trust us day in and day out all year-round.

With live music, festive drinks, tasty appetizers, yummy desserts, and good company we really could not ask for a better Christmas celebration!

What a unique privilege we had yesterday to celebrate our resident, Mr. Warren Rivera, a WWll Marine Veteran, on his 104th birthday!
🇺🇸🎉🥳🇺🇸
We were joined by Mark Hackel and his wonderful team, Kerry Jantz who provided a beautiful proclamation, a visit from the VFW Honor Guard who made him a member of the local VFW Post, and we were gifted a flag that flew over the U.S. Capital in his honor with a letter from Congress Woman Lisa McClain.

We had entertainment, cake, photos, family, and friends join us & had a wonderful time!

Men's Club chili cook-off made for a fun and flavorful afternoon! Residents and staff voted for their favorite recipe, resulting in a tie between Rich, our executive director, and Michael from our dining service team. Great job gentlemen!

Our RENEW resident of the month is Herman C. He believes exercise is important because if you don’t do it, you get weaker. Since starting the RENEW program, his legs are getting stronger. “Sometimes you can feel discouraged, but keep on exercising.”
