Many people panic when they start seeing more hair in the brush, in the shower, or on their pillow.
One of the most common causes of sudden shedding is Telogen Effluvium.
Telogen Effluvium happens when the body experiences stress—whether it’s from illness, surgery, hormonal changes, emotional stress, rapid weight loss, or nutritional deficiencies. When this happens, a large number of hair follicles shift into the resting (telogen) phase, which causes noticeable shedding a few months later.
The good news is that in most cases, the follicle is still alive.
That’s why education is one of the most important things I provide for my clients at Pure Roots Hair Loss Clinic & Wellness Spa. Understanding what’s happening with your hair helps remove fear and allows us to focus on the real solution—supporting the body, improving circulation to the scalp, and addressing the root cause.
Hair loss is not just about the hair.
It’s about what the body is going through.
And when we support the body properly, the hair often follows.
