❤️ Resident of the Month Spotlight ❤️

This month, we’re proud to celebrate someone very special, Mrs. Myrl!

Mrs. Myrl has been part of the John-Wesley Villas family for the past 3 years and part of the Macon community for an incredible 65 years. Talk about roots!

She spent her career shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher and later served as the energy manager for Mercer University. Her life has always been about learning, serving, and making a difference.

When she’s not reading one of her many books, you might hear her sharing stories about camping trips, hiking adventures, or her love of music. She brings such warmth, wisdom, and joy to everyone around her.

As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, residents like Mrs. Myrl are the WHY behind what we do. She represents the heart of our community- honoring the past, serving today, and building tomorrow together.

We’re so grateful she calls JWV home. ❤️

While looking back through old photos for our 40th anniversary, we found these gems from 2013, one of our early Pastor Appreciation Luncheons.

Our residents invited their pastors, and the room filled with friends from churches all across Macon. Over the years, we’ve probably welcomed someone from just about every church in town through these doors.

Faith, friendship, and community have always been part of life at John-Wesley Villas, and they still are today. 40 years later, that hasn’t changed one bit. 💛

Before John-Wesley Villas… before the buildings… before the name… There was simply a calling to care for people. Tyler J. Rauls, Sr., a Methodist minister, started Rauls Convalescent Home in Macon, long before senior living communities were common. His heart for service and dignity for older adults helped lay the foundation for what would eventually become John-Wesley Villas. 40 years later, that same mission still guides everything we do. ❤️ Honoring Our Past.
