Like a lot of people, Hobo's nervous about trying yoga for the first time. He worries he'll look silly, that he's not flexible enough, that people will laugh, that there will be poses he can't do, etc.
That's the beauty of my online classes. You get to practice in the privacy your own home. Even though we aren't in the same room, I'm still there to help. I'm available to answer questions after class, via DM, and private online lessons.
Hobo doesn't know it yet, but after a few classes he'll start to learn a few things. One day he'll leave his comfort zone, watching behind the door, and join in.
Here's a few lessons I've learned in my journey:
1) It's not only okay to look silly, it's actually a lot of fun.
2) There is a lot of laughter in yoga, because there is a lot of joy to be found on the mat.
3) Our bodies, abilities, life experiences are not the same so our yoga may look different. It's still yoga whether you sit, stand, use blocks, chairs, walls, straps, etc.
4) Props (blocks, chairs, straps, etc.) aren't crutches. They are tools to broaden your practice and they are a yogi's best friend.
5) My yoga practice isn't about getting a cool selfie with one foot behind my head while in a one arm handstand. It's about learning to love and appreciate me and my body through movement and meditation.
My Wednesday 6 pm ET / 3 pm PT Beginners class is free. If that time doesn't work for you, I send a recording to all registeted students that can be downloaded or streamed online. You can try the whole class, just the positions that you want, or just observe. If you are curious what your yoga practice will be about, send me a message.
