It's A Stretch

It's A Stretch In depth analysis of structural dynamics of the body, assisted stretching, and home programs are offered. Through stretching, function can be restored.

After experiencing the challenges of my own body limitations and chronic low back pain, I discovered a stretching method that improved my flexibility and helped my pain. I have been inspired by my own experience to work with others. Invented by Kit Laughlin (pandf.com.au), this method utilizes the reciprocal inhibition reflex to allow the body to stretch deeply and greatly improve flexibility.

Having dealt with chronic low back pain for over ten years, I understand that the need for caution takes precedence over the need to stretch. We approach each stretch with the belief that you cannot go back in time, but you can return to a stretch.

A quote from Kit Laughlin, inventor of Stretch Therapy: About Stretch Therapy™

Stretch Therapy (ST)** is a comprehensive system that includes stretching, fascial remodelling, strengthening, neural re-patterning, and relaxation. The goals are grace and ease in the body, and this is experienced as enhanced awareness and elegance in movement.

Applications of the ST approach span rehabilitation of specific physical problems, through development of more efficient alignment and movement patterns, all the way to improvement of elite athletic performance. Everyone will find themselves somewhere on this continuum!

We say that ST is a safe, yet extremely efficient, way to improve your flexibility, but that's only a convenient way to open the dialogue. As one starts to work with the body, new needs will be uncovered and you will find yourself pulling on one of the many strands of the ST approach. Everyone's path is unique, and our approaches reflect this reality.

ST is practised by thousands of people worldwide, and is suitable for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level.

From athletes to the injured, the benefits of stretching know no bounds. One on one sessions ensure that you get exactly what your body/structure needs. First appointment is typically 75-80 minutes, as this allows for time to go over any relevant history before we get into stretching. Please feel free to message me with any questions.
