Atrium Health Navicent Wellness Center Macon's Leading Health and Fitness Center with over 50+ group classes per week including Yoga, Cycle, Aqua Fitness, Zumba, SilverSneakers and more.

Our membership includes heated pool, indoor track, 50+ Group Fitness classes per week, FREE child care, FREE towel service, FREE shower amenities, and much more. The membership is $45/month. There is a registration fee and a yearly enhancement fee. Some programs & services are closed during COVID-19 restrictions. โœŠ๐ŸพWe donโ€™t usually think about grip strength as anything more than a test of forearm muscles.

But research shows itโ€™s actually one of the strongest predictors of overall health and longevity.

In fact, in many studies, grip strength has outperformed blood pressure as a marker for healthspan.

Why does something as simple as grip matter so much? Grip strength is a quick window into overall muscle quality, nervous system function, and resilience.

Weak grip strength is linked with higher risks of heart disease, disability, and even early death. On the other hand, stronger grip strength usually reflects better mobility, independence, and long-term survival.

The best part? Grip strength isnโ€™t just something youโ€™re born withโ€”it can be trained.

Lifting weights, carrying heavy objects, climbing, or simply hanging from a pull-up bar all challenge your grip and build full-body strength at the same time.
