🌟Alumni Spotlight🌟
Carlie Epps, a senior at the University of Georgia and member of Tattnall Square Academy’s Class of 2022, is majoring in Risk Management and Insurance with an emphasis in Business Analytics, while also pursuing certificates in Legal Studies and Actuarial Science. At UGA, she is an active member of the Insurance Society and serves as the Vice President of Student Relations for Gamma Iota Sigma, a national insurance fraternity.
This past May, Carlie had the privilege of traveling to London with the C. Herman Terry Program of Risk Management in the Terry College of Business. The program provided international industry exposure through meetings with underwriters, syndicates, and brokers across the London market.
A highlight of the trip was a day spent inside Lloyd’s of London, where she shadowed a broker and observed real-time negotiations of complex and unusual risks.
While abroad, Carlie also visited the London offices of several leading firms, including Guy Carpenter, one of the world’s top reinsurance brokers and a subsidiary of Marsh McLennan. She later spent the summer interning with Guy Carpenter’s Atlanta office, where she was able to apply the global insights gained in London to the U.S. market.
