The CDC recommends several strategies to help adjust to the end of Daylight Saving Time (Sunday, Nov. 2) and minimize disruptions to your sleep and overall health. Here are their key recommendations:

1. Prepare Gradually
⏰ Adjust Bedtime: Try to go to bed 15-30 minutes earlier a few days before the time change. This gradual shift can help your body adapt to the time difference.
⏰ Wake Up Consistently: Aim to wake up at the same time each day, even on weekends, to maintain a consistent sleep schedule.

2. Get Plenty of Morning Light
⏰ Expose Yourself to Natural Light: Morning sunlight helps regulate your body's internal clock. After DST ends, try to spend some time outside in the morning to help reset your sleep-wake cycle.
⏰ Avoid Bright Light in the Evening: Limit exposure to bright screens and lights before bed to help signal to your body that it’s time to wind down.

3. Limit Caffeine and Alcohol
⏰ Reduce Afternoon Caffeine: Avoid caffeine at least six hours before bed, as it can interfere with falling asleep.
⏰ Avoid Alcohol Close to Bedtime: While alcohol might make you feel sleepy initially, it can disrupt sleep patterns later in the night.

4. Practice Good Sleep Hygiene
⏰ Create a Relaxing Bedtime Routine: Engage in calming activities like reading, meditating, or taking a warm bath to signal to your body that it’s time for rest.
⏰ Keep Your Bedroom Dark and Cool: A dark, quiet, and cool environment can promote better sleep quality.

By following these tips, you can ease the transition and help your body adjust more smoothly when DST ends.

Our Story

Our mission is to be good people who serve our patients and have a positive influence on all who come into contact with MCC Internal Medicine. We will strive to: •Provide Walk-In hour (7:00am-8:00am Monday-Thursday) for anything the Patient needs. •If the Patient is sick and calls us, we will see them within 24 hours. •If the Patient needs a return phone call, we will handle it with a sense of urgency. •MCC Internal Medicine Medicine will utilize both Physicians and PA/NPs in delivering the highest quality healthcare available…..this is the way healthcare should be!

Patients may be dismissed from MCC Internal Medicine as a patient under the following conditions:

(1) Failure to make reasonable attempt to pay their bill. We are more than willing to work out payment plans but will dismiss patients who refuse to pay their bill.

(2) If the patient is rude or disrespectful to our Providers or our staff.
