I'm so excited for this! Unity has always been one of my favorite apps to trial with students, but it was only available on dedicated devices that were often very heavy and cumbersome for students. How amazing that this AAC App is now available on an iPad!

Allow me to reintroduce myself!

My name is Jessa Boehm and I am an SLP with over 10 years of experience in various settings including early intervention, public schools, and private practice.

I am passionate about Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and ensuring that my clients have the tools they need to be able to authentically communicate.

You might be wondering what I mean by authentically communicate. A common starting point for AAC users is to try and get them to request an item with their AAC device or label an item. We don't usually see much buy in or success with that because, quite frankly that's BORING! How much more fun would it be to say, "whoops" when something falls to the floor or tell someone "no" or that you "don't like" or "don't want" something. Ever told a joke using an AAC device? Told your little brother to "go away"? Said "I love you"? It's pretty awesome!

We communicate for so many different reasons that we need to go beyond requesting and find the joy in communication.

Communication = Connection

Let me help you and your child find the joy in communicating and making connections in real life situations!

We provide speech therapy in your home and in the community so we can focus on authentic situations to model communication where it happens. We focus on family coaching so that AAC implementation is easy and part of your natural routine.
