Meet Whitney Parr, Clinical Director at Longleaf Recovery Huntsville, and honestly? She might be the coolest person in the room. She stays grounded by surrounding herself with people who tell her the truth. She meets every client exactly where they are, without judgment and without rushing the process. And when she clocks out? She's painting, rolling dice in a D&D campaign, and cruising on a Honda Shadow.

We are so proud to have Whitney leading our clinical team in Huntsville. She brings the kind of heart and honesty this work requires every single day.

We are so excited to formally introduce you to Josh Smith!

Josh serves as a Counselor Assistant at Longleaf Huntsville and brings a thoughtful, grounded presence to our team.

He shared that beginning each day with prayer and meditation helps him stay centered, no matter what the day brings. That intentional start carries into his work through active listening, empathy, and a deep respect for each person’s journey.

Before deciding to work towards his Master of Social Work, Josh completed his undergraduate degree in philosophy and technical writing. His background continues to inform the way he communicates, supports clients, and approaches complex situations with care.

At Longleaf Recovery and Wellness, meeting people where they are is more than a phrase. It is a daily commitment to honoring each individual’s story.

This workshop explores practical, strengths-based strategies to support individuals on the autism spectrum and beyond. Attendees will leave with tools to address unique needs, promote well-being, mitigate safety risks, and develop comprehensive, long-term support plans grounded in current best practices.

It is official! Longleaf Lodge is coming to Shelby County in early 2027. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has shown us such unwavering support and kindness as we worked to make this vision a reality. As we reflect on the journey that led us here, we are humbled by the incredible community that has surrounded us from the very beginning. We can’t wait to continue this journey.
