students are officially on winter break!! But last week we wrapped up our December Art Spark classes by making these vibrant chalk pastel drawings of strings of lights!!

❄️ students did an incredible job last week at my annual Snowglobe workshop!! ❄️

Scroll through to see some of their amazing creations! We loved molding and sculpting our oven bake clay and then choosing our sparkling glitters to fill our jars with. We even topped them off with fancy Christmas bows on top. I can’t wait to see what my students will do with their snow globes today, and what my students will create next week!! There’s still a few spaces remaining in Deforest so if you want to register late, do it!!!

❄️☃️ Winter Snow Globe Workshop ☃️❄️

It’s back! This annual project is the most fun and festive way to get into the Holiday spirit. Fill your own mason jar with the most adorable tiny winter scene. We’ll use oven bake modeling clay and clay tools to sculpt and shape small snowmen, Santa’s, reindeer and any other festive characters and scenes you want inside of your jar! After baking, we assemble them with hot glue and fill out jars with glycerin, water and glitter. You’ll want to bring your Snowglobe out year after year to display for the holidays as this is one of my students’ all time favorite art projects!

☃️❄️Funky Snow Families❄️☃️

This super easy and creative drawing project is fun for students of all ages and abilities! Go step by step as I show you how to draw a family of snow people - complete with hats, mittens, carrot noses and coal for eyes and buttons. Add your own creative spin by adding funny sunglasses, snowflakes, snowball fights and more! Using markers and other drawing supplies your students need no previous drawing experience for this project. Keep it and display it during the snowy months or give it to a friend as a holiday card!

students did such a great job last night at my Birch Tree Painting Workshop!

✨

Using canvas board and tempera paints students painted directly on top of their masked off birch trees. We used painters tape first to decide where our trees should be and how many branches they should have. Then we experimented mixing colors and applying swatches across the whole board covering everything with color! Finally we peeled away our tape once our paint was dry to reveal the white bark beneath and added our final tree details with black sharpies.

✨Moth studies✨

Art Spark students had a blast using oil pastels and neon crayons to draw our best Moths!! Aka butterflies of the night! We talked about different wing shapes and antennae shapes and sizes and then sketched out our moths with pencil first. After that we filled them in with bright colors and even colored our backgrounds so our moths would pop off the page! Way to go my friends! These turned out so cool 👏👏👏

This easy and relaxing painting project will have you embracing the winter season! Using masking tape and acrylic paints, I will guide you step by step through masking off our trees, painting, and detailing some cool winter birch trees. 🔤👻HAUNTED ALPHABETS ☠️🔤

I am OBSESSED with these super creative and detailed haunted alphabets some of my In Home Students created!! For each letter of the alphabet we tried to think of something spooky/scary or “halloweeny” and then attempted to create that into the shape of the alphabet letter! What a fun challenge, way to go boys!!
