It’s important to acknowledge that even if we love doing something and are passionate about it, overexerting ourselves without taking appropriate breaks or seeking variety can cause exhaustion, decreased motivation, and overall dissatisfaction. We all have limits, and reaching them is inevitable.

It’s critical to prioritize self-care to prevent burnout.

It’s ok to change your mind… and step back… when you need to…

It's sometimes necessary to withdraw when you've overextended yourself, and that's perfectly okay. You may not have realized your limits before, or perhaps you agreed out of a sense of obligation. Remember, it's always possible to change your mind.

One year ago today… so grateful to be part of this book project and to be able to share my journey through grief after Dad and Pappaw died in 2022. I miss them like crazy and still think about them every day. I would not be who I am today without their love and influence. Grief is hard. And weird. And as strange as this sounds.. there are good parts of grief too. ❤️

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of Lieutenant Chris Picou, who passed away on November 10th. A true hero, Chris was a veteran of the U.S. Army, proudly serving in the Louisiana Army National Guard, and dedicated his life to protecting and serving others. As the Administration and K-9 Supervisor, he touched countless lives with his commitment and passion for his work.

Chris’s absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends, family, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.

At Mission Vigilant, we want to remind everyone that no one is alone in their struggles. If you or someone you know is having a hard time, we are here for you. We offer anonymous counseling and support, and we encourage anyone in need to reach out. Together, we will get through this. Rest in peace, Lieutenant Picou. You will be missed more than words can express.
