NOW ACCEPTING Horses for Craniosacral Level 3 Case Studies focusing on the nerves and soft tissue! Eeeeek! 5 appointments for $300. These case studies will offer advanced techniques to help with rebalancing and restoring biomechanical function with horses experiencing neurological pathologies or deficits. Conditions may include:
-headshaking, TMJ,
-pull back, trauma to head, a trailer accident,
-stress/anxiety, behaviors, or
-neck or tail, hind end lameness.

If this is your horse, reach out and we can discuss if this is a good fit for your horse’s needs.

Wanna know more? Well let me tell you ALLLL about it!
Ha! Just kidding. This course is offered by Equinology/Equilearn and taught by Dr. Sandra Howlette, one of my favorite anatomy geeks!

Level 3 focuses on the anatomy and neurological function of the equine cranial nerves as well as in the forelimb and hind limb, poll, barrel, and pelvis. When there is soft tissue tension, nerves get cranky, then horses get cranky. Think about what sciatica feels like. Ouchie!

I've already attended Levels 1 and 2 that focused more on the musculoskeletal anatomy and dysfunctions. This is also building on the year-long functional osteopathy course I took in 2024.

I am really looking forward to being able to help more horses with more complicated concerns. And case studies make it possible. I sincerely appreciate everyone's support!!!

I LOVE APPOINTMENTS OUTSIDE!!! And because in a previous life, THIS is better than any corner office, hands down! Spring was teasing us this day, and it's getting light out in the evenings. So heck ya, let's go outside! Everyone else at the barn had the same idea and both arenas were busy! Bring on the warm weather!

I haven't had a board meeting in quite awhile! Wow did we have a big agenda! Old Business, New Business, an Executive Report, a brief Financial Update, and of course a Previous Meeting Minutes approval. Thankfully no committee reports since those tend to drag on. See ya next meeting, cutie patootie!

"My mare needs some love. Her bum is like a boulder!" I cracked up! But it was TRUE! Back story: This cutie is a senior and winter is so hard on her. And she needs slow, gentle work because she has arthritis in multiple joints. So any fast movement makes her body move too much and then that doesn't feel great in her joints. I love working with her and her person to help her age with grace. I'm so honored to be on her team.

Trace the spine. What is it doing? What’s the priority? What will the horse agree to?

In this fella's case, his initial body scan showed me a pattern: right hind, left ribs, right neck and poll. And he has some quirky sensitivities where he says, "No, I don't like that!" but mostly he's super agreeable.

But stepping back and looking at the whole picture, he's going through corrective shoeing. And he's a working man! He gives lessons, has a part-time lessor, and his owner enjoys her time with him immensely.

So what did I do? So after the general craniosacral and fascial releases, I gave a lot of attention to his barrel and neck. He had more vitality overall after! We'll see what he has to say next time!

I asked a client to video while I talked through and mentally mapped out the horse’s body: the scapula and sternum. And the video then shows me the ribs and hind end (pelvis and sacrum). There’s also corrective shoeing and veterinary care happening. So then how to we maximize this session? Work to release soft tissue tension along the spine for the win.

What is happening INSIDE your horse's hoof will impact the rest of the body. In this case we can see how the pecs are developing unevenly, asymmetrically, due to how the body has to move. This young athlete's person sought radios (xrays) of his feet and found that his coffin bone was rotating forward too much. So, the farrier changed the plan to accommodate the needs. They are on a path of adjustment and will be working to slowly strengthen this fella's thoracic sling more evenly over the next several months. So be sure to thank your farrier!!!
