🩺 Want to become a midwife? Is 2026 your year to take the next step? 🤰

📚 We would like to add a student midwife to our practice, starting immediately.

Ideally, candidates would meet the following requirements:

• PEP student
• Phase 2 or experienced doula (10+ births)
• lives within 40 mins of the birth center
• self starter
• loves learning
• has a fantastic sense of humor

Additionally, we would like a student with a thorough understanding of the PEP process, the steps required, and has a solid plan for didactic education.

Our practice is located in a rural area and serves clients within an hour radius. We are not a high volume practice, but stay busy. We enjoy hosting community events, offering classes, and networking with others. You will have opportunities to not just learn hands on midwifery skills, but also how to run a practice. You will either need to reside nearby or be willing to move to the area. This is not a position for a long distance commuter. Housing is NOT provided, nor is transportation (though we do carpool at times).

Our March topic is Siblings and will include discussion on child spacing as well as tips for easing the transition of adding a new baby.

🌸 WELCOME ELOWYN 🌸

Elowyn was born last month and is our first 2026 baby! 🗓️There were a couple of small speed bumps during pregnancy that this family handled with grace and knowledge, while also making some difficult changes along the way.

And then the weather forecast. ❄️

We were forecasted to have way too much challenging weather in a very short amount of time. Due to distance, there was concern we wouldn’t be able to get there. Thankfully Elowyn stayed warmly tucked inside until the melting was well underway. 🏡

But the excitement didn’t stop there… 🚗

When Elowyn decided it was her birthday, she really committed. This family had less than an hour labor !!! and even with improved weather, we still were unable to make it before baby. ⏰ We did arrive before the placenta though.

Every family, every baby, has their own story to tell, even when it doesn’t include the midwives. Elowyn’s story is 100% her own and it’s amazing. Her parents did an incredible job getting her here safely and she showed up with delicious rolls to share.

We can’t wait to see this little one grow and change through the years! 👶

You were all so helpful when we needed to have our driveway plowed, so we thought we would ask the community again.

Our refrigerator went out and I think it may be the compressor (though I do not repair appliances so just a guess). Who do you recommend for appliance repair?

We have expanded our previous 2 day training into a 3 day workshop which provides even MORE time for scenarios and skills practice. Registration is NOW OPEN and space is VERY limited.

This comprehensive course is taught by 2 licensed VA midwives, each bringing decades of birth experience, real life stories, and practice scenarios. Workshop is held in a local, working birth center.
