Sunshine, fresh air, and good company, Phyllis and DeVonte took a walk together, and it was a simple reminder that some of the best moments are the ones that don’t need much at all. At Peaceful Pines, we cherish the opportunity to support our residents not just with care, but with companionship and heart.

So far in April, we have had the privilege of welcoming seven new residents! Looking ahead to May, we are excited to welcome another 7 new residents & one super-cute puppy named Coco! 🐶🏡

Our residents ran a competitive race yesterday! 🐴🏇 The game came down to the wire, and we are so grateful for this group's spirit!

Our most recent Bingo was particularly fun, as one of our newest employees, Tristyn Maras (a Dakota State University Volleyball player), stepped in as our Bingo caller and did so with great energy and an infectious smile! Moments like these remind us how lucky we are to laugh, play, and live life together with our residents.

We would like to thank the volunteers from the Oldham-Ramona-Rutland National Honor Society for lending a hand with Bags for Bonnie! Grocery bags have to be folded, cut, and looped into 'plarn', which Bonnie then crochets into plastic mats for people who are homeless to sleep on. This group got a lot done in a short time, and we really appreciate their assistance!

We were so egg-cited to celebrate Easter with Trinity Lutheran Preschool last week! We decoupaged Easter eggs, had an Easter Egg Hunt, and then played a dice game with the eggs! Of course, we enjoyed a snack as well. We hope everyone had a blessed Easter!

Happy Easter from everyone at Peaceful Pines! The Easter Bunny hopped by to deliver Girl Scout cookies to every resident! Thank you to our family and friends in the community for donating the cookies, and to Marci Hofman and her troupe for making it happen! We appreciate you making our Easter egg-stra special!

As the American Psychological Association describes, the right song can make us feel chills, help pull us out of a bad mood, or take us back in time to the first time we heard it. This week during one of our favorite activities, Sing-A-Long, together we experienced all of the feels as went back in time singing:

• Release Me by Engelbert Humperdinck
• Goodnight Irene by Jim Reeves (This song was a real tearjerker for one resident ❤️)
• Tennessee Waltz by Patti Page
• Bonaparte’s Retreat by Roy Clark

But that wasn't all, we even had a special furry friend, Maizey, come and visit us! What a joy it is to do life together, and what a gift we have in music to help our hearts and minds travel to such sweet places.
