These fun and interactive groups focus on building foundational social and emotional skills. Our first six-week series will help participants learn how to manage strong emotions and boost their emotional intelligence. Each week, parents will receive a handout that explains the session's topic and offers tips for reinforcing the skills at home.

🌟 New Social Skills Group for Middle School Girls! 🌟

We’re excited to introduce Skills 4 Life, a fun and supportive social skills group led by our newest therapist, Latesha Burks! Designed for middle school girls (ages 11-14) with Level 1 ASD or other neurodiverse challenges, this group focuses on building confidence, interpreting social cues, and strengthening relationships in a welcoming space.

I am excited to announce the newest addition to the team. Latesah Burks is a licensed counselor and will soon be able to accept all forms of insurance including Medicaid. She has a wealth of life experiences and clinical expertise. Latesah knows how to navigate difficult family dynamics and challenges. She is a single mom with two active boys. She has helped her oldest child with autism navigate the school system and life successfully. Below is more information on some of her specialities.

I will aim to help you with non-traditional grief related issues with a speciality in the following: newly divorced, single parenting, geriatric planning for caregivers/families, and parents of children with newly diagnosed Autism Spectrum Disorders.
With the use of ACT, CBT, and Solution- Focused therapies you could be on the road to learning and implementing coping skills while accepting life at its current status.

New Skills 4 Life Group (Middle School Edition)

For five consecutive Monday nights, beginning on January 22nd and running from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Tyler Slay, P-LPC, will be hosting a Skills 4 Life group tailored for middle schoolers with Asperger’s and other neurodiverse challenges. The group will focus on peer relationships, conversation skills, community conduct, emotional intelligence, emotional regulation, and executive functioning skills. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with peers, lead portions of the group time, have an open dialogue about struggles, and practice skills that will help them navigate challenges independently in the real world.
