The days can be long, but the years are short — in medicine and in life.

Hard to believe it’s been nearly 15 years since one of my closest friends and I have been able to hang out like this.

On my very first day of medical school in 2007, I found myself standing in the orientation line next to Ruslan. That moment turned into an instant friendship. From day one, he’s had a rare quality about him — kind, intelligent, thoughtful, and just a great person to be around.

We both found our way into plastic surgery, and he has gone on to become one of THE BEST facial plastic surgeons in the world.

Time and distance may separate people, but genuine friendship doesn’t fade.

It was a blessing to bring our families together again (minus one very important person), and it was no surprise at all that our sons connected right away too — some things just carry on naturally.

Great seeing you and Barbie. Let’s not wait another 15 years.

It is with a full heart that we say goodbye to one of the most remarkable young women I have had the privilege of working with. Kaylin came to us nearly three years ago, full of potential and eagerness to grow — and grow she did.

Her professionalism, her kindness, and the genuine care she showed our patients every single day made her an absolute gift to our team. She is leaving us to pursue her path as a Surgical Technologist, and I have zero doubt she is going to be outstanding.
