Honoring Our Heroes

On this Veterans Day, we come together to express our deepest gratitude to the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our nation. Your sacrifice, courage, and dedication inspire us all.

Float therapy has been shown to help reduce stress, ease chronic pain, improve sleep, and support mental well-being — all areas where veterans may especially benefit. In combination with other traditional therapies, floating and sensory deprivation can be incredible tools for unwinding the effects of PTSD and its many co-factors – such as depression and anxiety – in addition to aiding recovery from traumatic brain injuries, concussions and blast-induced neurotrauma as extensive research has shown. We hope this experience provides rest, recovery, and renewal for those who’ve given so much.

As we celebrate this day, let's also commit ourselves to supporting our veterans in every way possible, from providing resources and assistance to simply saying "Thank you." Let us create a world where the well-being of our heroes is a top priority.

We still have a few spots available for a complimentary float, so call us if you are a veteran and would like to float. These are floats paid for by other guests and ourselves, so there will be no charge for you.

To all veterans, we thank you for your service, and we honor you today and every day. 🙏

The dog need to get to the groomer, the kids need to get to practice, dinner isn't ready, it's your turn to cook, your partner is running late, and your boss has called three times. 😩

Amidst all of those demands on your time, attention, and energy, know that it's more important than ever to recharge your own batteries, put on your own oxygen mask first, and give yourself the fuel you need to do it all (or most of it, at least)!

You are important, and you deserve a place on the calendar that is yours and yours alone. 🧘‍♀️ Make it a point to block time for you.

To many individuals who have ADHD, the idea of "doing nothing" might sound terrifying. Interestingly though, many float center owners have ADHD and found it to be so beneficial, they wanted to share the practice of floating with others.

Here are a few tips for those who may be curious about floating with ADHD:
🤫 The quiet might feel startling at first. You might enjoy listening to music to help you settle. Don't fight your thoughts though. That's what the brain does! Just notice them and try to watch them like you would watch a television show, as if you're in the audience witnessing the thoughts, but they aren't yours.

✅ While the biggest benefits of floating come from finding stillness and rest, it's perfectly okay to stretch, wiggle, and explore the feelings of weightlessness.

💡 If you choose to turn the lights off, your brain receives less information to process and makes it easier to rest, ultimately reaching theta state - that place just between being awake and being asleep.

🕒 Once you're floating, time doesn't matter! We'll let you know when it's time to get out, but you don't have to worry about being late or preparing to leave. Just rest.

🧠 Many folks with ADHD say it feels like their brains are a giant web of thoughts. Floating provides the perfect environment to explore those thoughts, or if you do reach theta state, the brain can start to untangle the thoughts unconsciously.

📈 Start slow. You might prefer to build up to the full session time. You're in control and can get out at any time. It's a practice, just like going to the gym or learning a new skill. Don't expect that you'll go in the first time and master the art of doing nothing (though some people do!).

Our Story

Greg has been involved in the health and wellness industry since 2007. While in school for nutrition, working in the wellness department of his community grocery co-op and learning everything he could about being as self-sufficient as possible on farm he was renting, his stress levels were becoming difficult to manage. He discovered float therapy back in 2011, and after hearing about the physical and mental benefits, he had to give it a try. He drove down to what was then the closest float center in the area, a place in Chicago that has offered floating since the early 1980's. That first float changed everything. It was like a complete physical and mental reset. For the next 3 years he made the 5 hour round-trip every few months to float for that reset of body and mind. Eventually, he grew tired of trying to convince friends to open up a place in Madison, and he decided that he would be the one to provide the revolutionary tool to his community.
