Dear Clients of Therapeutic Massage Center of Middleton,

I have some very exciting news. As of September 11, 2023 I will be closing our office in Middleton to relocate to Atwood Avenue on Madison’s East Side. Carmela and Courtney will also be rebranding as Madison Lymphatics and Bodywork. We are both extremely excited to begin this new venture together.

The new office, located at 2453 Atwood Avenue, will be in a lovely Mid Century Modern building. Building features include a dedicated parking lot, spacious treatment rooms with ample sunlight, and a little extra space for us to grow our clinic.

Because the building was designed in an era when such things were not considered, the office is not ADA compliant (the building is a split-level design with 6 stairs leading to our suite). With that being said, we do have access to an ADA space in Middleton to serve our clients that need this consideration. If you are a patient that requires being seen at the ADA location, please email us directly at info@mfmassage.com, as we are putting together a list of those that will need accommodations for proper scheduling.

We will be moving into the new location on the week of September 11-15. The Atwood location will be ready for us to see clients starting the week of September 18th.

I want to thank all of our clients, past and present, that have helped to make TMCM what it has become. Since 2009 when I opened Therapeutic Massage Center, I have dedicated TMCM to helping people feel better in their bodies. We intend to continue that philosophy for many years to come in our new location and we hope you choose to continue your health journey with us.

Warm Regards To All,
Carmela Wiese

Mask requirement update:

As of today, May 18, clients will no longer be required to wear a mask while in the clinic or during their session. Therapists will still be masking at all times, however.

We encourage those that feel more comfortable wearing a mask to continue to do so.

Please remember, we never charge for cancellations due to illness. With that being said, do not come in for your session if you are feeling unwell. Receiving massage therapy or manual lymphatic drainage while having a cold, fever, flu, or viral symptoms very likely will make you feel worse.

We strive to continue to make our office as comfortable and safe for our patients as possible. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Hope to see you soon,
Therapeutic Massage Center of Middleton

Hi, I’m Courtney. I’m extremely passionate about my work and know that I have found my true calling in life. My patients know that I am 100% focused on our session and that my goal is to get them back to doing what they love and feeling their best.

My first love was dance. I received my Bachelor of Science in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2006. I taught dance for 10 years focusing on ballet technique, pointe work, and dancing in a local West African dance company. Being a dancer my whole life, I was constantly injured and never took time to heal. If I had only known then what I do today.

Now, as a doctor of physical therapy, I have learned that the body has an amazing capacity to heal if you treat it with kindness and compassion. Due to these constant injuries, I knew I needed a big change, or my body would give out on me. This lead me to Texas State University, where I received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Throughout my career as a Physical Therapist, it became clear to me that there was an aspect missing in my practice. I would often see patients with swelling, systemic inflammation, or a heightened nervous system who were not progressing as expected. I wanted to get to the root cause of these issues. Getting certified in manual lymphatic drainage ended up changing my career path and in the last 3 years I have devoted most of my practice to lymphatic patients specifically. I’m constantly amazed at how well lymphatic therapy works and wish I had implemented this into my practice earlier.

At Therapeutic Massage Center of Middleton, my focus is purely on helping people recovering from surgery, cancer and supporting those with lymphatic or autoimmune conditions. My patients say they appreciate how supportive and caring I am and that it’s obvious how much I love my work.

In my other professional life, I own an IG vintage shop, run a small business helping other small businesses. In my free time I enjoy seeing live music, exploring nature and hanging out with my partner Chris and our dog Lefty.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage, or MLD, is a gentle yet powerful form of bodywork that is intended to stimulate and encourage the natural movement of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back towards the heart. It is a technique based on gentle, rhythmic and constant movements that mimic the rhythm of the body’s lymphatic system.

Although lymphatic massage may not be as common as other types of massage modalities, the benefits that it provides are numerous. If you are feeling a bit sluggish, experiencing mild to moderate swelling, recovering from an injury, or interested in optimizing your immune system MLD could be the therapeutic option for you.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage done at the Therapeutic Massage Center of Middleton is performed by Carmela Wiese, LMT, CMLDT and Dr. Courtney Rolnick. Both Carmela and Courtney were trained in the Vodder Technique through Klose Training and Nicola McGill in Boulder, Colorado. Both Carmela and Courtney are highly trained and each have over 6 years of experience in treating post-surgical patients.

MLD is indicated for many…including healthy individuals wanting to boost their immune system or those with (but not limited to) the following conditions:

Autoimmune diseases (such as rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, lupus and chronic fatigue syndrome)
Neuropathy
Migraines/Headaches
Tinnitus
Varicose veins
Sinus congestion
Lyme disease
Metabolic waste removal after CoolSculpting
Edema
Lymphedema
Post-mastectomy swelling
Lumpectomy
