"To effectively treat the patient, one must become the patient."

Today, our paramedic class took that philosophy to heart. Students wore Dexcom glucose sensors to experience firsthand how glucose levels change throughout the day; helping them build a deeper, more empathetic understanding of diabetic emergencies.

This kind of immersive learning strengthens clinical decision-making and prepares future paramedics for the realities their patients face.

A huge thank you to Sara Stephenson, RN, for sharing her expertise and delivering an outstanding presentation on diabetes management and continuous glucose monitoring. Your insight made this experience truly meaningful.
