Mike & Tammy Miller to Receive Champion of Healthcare Award at MRHF’s Annual Gala Fundraiser.
The Madison Regional Health Foundation is proud to honor Mike and Tammy Miller as the 2025 Champion of Healthcare award recipients at The Gala event on December 5th, 2025. This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional support for the Madison Regional Health Foundation, the Madison Regional Health System, and a strong commitment to community involvement. Mike and Tammy’s decades of dedication to healthcare and the Madison community make them exemplary honorees.
“Mike and I are truly honored to be selected as the Champions of Healthcare this year. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to work at Madison Regional Health System for 45 years through which Mike was always supportive. I'm also proud of the growth and accomplishments attained by MRHS through the years. Our family has donated to the Foundation since its inception because we strongly believe that local healthcare is crucial to a community.” Said Tammy Miller.
Tammy Miller began as an Administrative Assistant while attending Dakota State University and ultimately serving as CEO for four decades. During her leadership, she oversaw the construction of the 110,000-square-foot hospital that opened in 2015 and guided MRHS to national recognition, including three top-20 rankings among critical access hospitals. Tammy has served on numerous local, state, and national boards and was named one of the 71 Critical Access Hospital CEOs to Know by Becker’s Hospital Review in 2016, 2018, 2023, and 2024. In 2024, she received the Larry Veitz Lifetime Achievement Award at the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations Annual Convention, recognizing her exemplary service and lasting impact on healthcare throughout the state. Throughout her career, Tammy praised and empowered her staff, fostering a culture of excellence and compassionate care.
Mike Miller worked for B & G Transportation for over 30 years. He has also sat on numerous Boards in the Madison community including the Parks & Rec Board where he cared for the local baseball fields and was the recipient of the Madison Baseball Association of SD “For the Love of the Game” award. Aside from being an avid Green Bay Packers fan, Mike’s love for baseball has shaped every corner of his life. From the fields he played on, to the diamonds he carefully cared for, to the countless hours he dedicated to coaching and encouraging not only his own children, but generations of young people and adults across our community.
Mike & Tammy have been married for 47 years, they have three sons, three daughter in-laws, and seven grandchildren, and in retirement, they have enjoyed traveling and continuing to be engaged in the community they have served so faithfully.
