We analyzed 94 hips with ≥1-year follow-up after PAO for symptomatic hip dysplasia.
✅ Key Findings: Risk factors for nonunion after PAO:
🔹 Older age
🔹 Higher BMI
🔹 Lower bone density (HU on pre-op CT)
🔹 Greater acetabular fragment medialization
🔹Trend toward increased risk with more medial superior ramus osteotomy.

📢 New Research Alert! Early MRI Findings After Hip Labrum Repair We examined non-arthrographic MRIs within 4 weeks of arthroscopic acetabular labrum repair for femoroacetabular impingement (FAI).
✅ Key Findings:
- Persistent tear-like appearance and increased T2 signal in the repaired labrum were seen in 100% of hips.
- Labrum shortening was common (92%).
- Capsular discontinuity appeared in 92%, even when capsular closure was performed.
🔍 Clinical takeaway: These changes are expected early post-op and should not be mistaken for recurrent pathology. Understanding this normal healing appearance can help avoid unnecessary concern or revision surgery.
