As my husband travels home early this morning for a family emergency,
I’m reminded of how Spirit meets us in the quiet places —
the places where words fall away
and only breath remains.
With each inhale, I call in protection, clarity, and steadiness.
With each exhale, I release fear, tension, and everything I can’t control.
In moments like these, we remember that we are held —
by the Divine, by love, by the unseen threads that connect us all.

This passage from The Heart Sutra stopped me today:
“You have to see life. You shouldn’t say, life of the leaf, but life in the leaf.”

I sat with that line as the candles flickered nearby,
feeling how everything is connected: breath, light, leaf, heart.
It’s all life, meeting itself in different forms.

No separation. Just presence.

Inhale: I am part of this moment.
Exhale: This moment is part of me.

I sat with the soft glow of this light this morning —
the quiet warmth, the steadiness of the bowl,
the gentle presence of the orchid beside me.

Just letting my breath slow down.
Just letting myself arrive in my own body again.

No fixing.
No improving.
Just being.

Nervous System Reset and the Vagus Nerve
As I continue to heal, I have been even more aware of how central the nervous system is in everything we do. When the nervous system is regulated, the body has the space to rest and repair. When it becomes overwhelmed, even with positive or “healing” experiences, the system can shut down, contract, or fatigue.

One of the key pathways in this process is the vagus nerve, which helps shift the body into the parasympathetic state. This is the state of calm, digestion, recovery, and deep healing.

In this post I share - Simple Vagus Nerve Soothers, the Awareness that is important for those of those that hold space for others (clients or groups) and a training I have been creating since I have been on Sabbatical. I have studied this for several years and it is helped me in my own lived history of trauma as I learned what truly supports my system.

The world is still soft in this early light —
dark trees, quiet breath, one bright star holding the sky.
There’s something sacred about this in-between moment.
Not night, not day.
Just becoming.
You don’t have to be fully awake yet.
You don’t have to be ready.
You can arrive slowly.
Take one gentle inhale…
and a long, unhurried exhale.
