Congratulations to Wasana Vanberg on her incredible and well-deserved win at the Asia Massage Championship 2026 in Phuket, Thailand.

What a special moment it was to witness a courageous fellow massage therapist who chose to push her limits and trust her barefoot bodywork skills on the world stage.

Wasana’s performance was outstanding—an elegant and graceful display of barefoot work using the Travel Bars. Knowing this was her first time using them, I was truly blown away by her flow, creativity, and safe, confident application of barefoot techniques.

I’m grateful that a mutual friend, Len Liang (Multi-Gold World Massage Champion) reached out to ask if Wasana could use the Travel Bars during the competition. Even without knowing the full extent of her barefoot experience at the time, helping her was never a hesitation. I had once stood in the same place myself—preparing to compete barefoot in Rome in 2024, facing the exact challenge of needing proper overhead support just to fully show my work. That experience stayed with me and shaped everything that followed.

The Travel Bars were never created to make things easier. They were created to make barefoot bodywork possible—to remove limitations so skill, creativity, and presence can speak for themselves.

I am truly grateful to be part of this beautiful human being’s journey in barefoot bodywork. Seeing Wasana step into her power strengthens my hope of meeting more barefoot bodyworkers who are willing to push their limits, take initiative, and trust themselves enough to be seen.

EXCELLENCE AWARD NOMINEE

I’m truly honored and grateful to accept a nomination for the NewMa Excellence Award.

Being recognized by the New Massage Association was unexpected and still feels a bit unreal. NewMa has consistently created space for professionalism, openness, and respect for the many expressions of massage, and to be acknowledged by this community means a great deal to me.

This moment brings me back to Rome in 2024, when the NewMa community first welcomed me and, for the first time, awarded GOLD to barefoot bodywork. That experience wasn’t just about a medal. It was about an organization willing to recognize uniqueness, honor different approaches, and give space to techniques that don’t always fit the mold. I’m proud of that moment because it affirmed that there is room in our profession for many paths and many voices.

As part of this process, there is a public vote. If you choose to participate, I hope you’ll see it as a way to support an organization that continues to welcome diversity of skill, background, and expression within our profession. Supporting NewMa means encouraging therapists to step forward with confidence, trust their work, and believe there is space for them to be seen.

When I found Ashiatsu, I had no idea how it would contribute to my bodywork practice.​

What started as an exploration of unique massage modalities, Ashiatsu soon became the gateway to discovering my deeper calling in bodywork.

We can define bodywork in many ways. To me bodywork is recognizing that healing and BECOMING BALANCED comes through addressing the whole self, honoring the connection between body, mind, and spirit.

I welcome my clients with grounded mind and see them as they are when they arrive. I value their time, safety, and feedback.
