Sometimes you hear stories that inspire completely. Nothing else to say. This is one of those.
The teller is a student who just completed CST2. At the start I ask for any successes since CST1. She said:
The story I’ll share is about a lovely lady, age 89, who came to see me.
I’d initially helped her son, and he asked if I would look after his mom. She was from South Africa and had been involved in a horrific car crash in the late 1980s. She went headfirst into the windshield back in the days before seatbelts were required.
Ever since then, she had head pains, headaches, and sharp pains behind her eyes. Every night when she went to bed, she got dizzy spells that took up to 10 minutes to settle. This had been going on since the late 80s - a very long time.
When she came to see me, I’d been practicing my CST1 techniques. I wasn't entirely sure what I could do for her, but the sphenoid seemed like an important place to start. I modified my approach to work on her while she was seated, because I didn't want her to lie down in my office and suffer a bout of dizziness; that was very unpleasant for her.
I worked on the frontal bones, the parietals, and the sphenoid, which did some amazingly weird and wonderful things. It was fairly unusual for me to feel the sphenoid moving in so many different ways.
I worked on her for half an hour that day and saw her again two weeks later. Since that first session, she hasn't had a single recurrence of that head pain or the headaches behind her eyes.
She's also able to go to bed and lie down with no dizziness at all!
It's pretty phenomenal.
Since CST2, I understand the mis-alignment patterns better; I was facilitating release just by holding the intention of very gently working with the sphenoid the way it wanted to go.
I've seen her in the clinic again and I continue to work on her seated.
It was a beautiful learning experience showing the power of what we can do for someone with head trauma. 35+ years of issues gone in one session. I know it’s not always like that but it sure is incredible when it happens.

Thanks to Melinda Warren for this lovely story. I can’t help wishing she’s found CST sooner - but at least she found it!
