If you know me, you know I’m hardly ever at a loss for words — but last night at Sweetwater Junior High School, I was almost speechless. 🥹

Sweetwater City Schools held a Red Ribbon Week “Penny War” and chose the Monroe County Prevention and Wellness Coalition as the recipient. Together, their schools raised over $850 — all in the name of prevention!

We are so thankful to the Sweetwater City Schools administration, teachers, and of course, the amazing students who not only raised funds, but also helped spread the message of why substance misuse prevention matters. Thank you for choosing PWC to receive your pennies for prevention! ❤️

A super special thank you to school counselor Kim Morris, who brought this year’s Red Ribbon Week theme — “Life is a Puzzle, Solve it Drug Free” — to life! 🧩

Ms. Kim’s hard work truly paid off — every TPES student helped design a puzzle piece, which they then put together during our Red Ribbon Week presentation to create a life-size puzzle! Each piece represented an important part of their school community and reminded everyone that every Cub’s piece matters in building a drug-free future.
