The Mountains are calling! 🍂🍁
Fall is ON in Haywood’s Western NC Mountains! 🍁 🍂 Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Lake Junaluska, Canton & Clyde are bursting with color—and all your favorite spots are OPEN despite the government shutdown.
✔️ Blue Ridge Parkway: All 46 miles in Haywood County are open, including fall favorite hikes like Waterrock K**b, Graveyard Fields, and Devil’s Courthouse. While some restrooms are closed, the views are better than ever—just remember to pack out your trash.
✔️ Great Smoky Mountains National Park: roads and trails, including Cataloochee Valley, are open for exploring. Cataloochee Campground is closed, and services like restrooms and trash pickup are unavailable—so please plan ahead!
✔️ Pisgah National Forest: No closures! Popular spots like Black Balsam K**b, Sam K**b, and Flat Laurel Creek are wide open, as is Sunburst Campground.
🚗 Scenic drives along NC-215 and US-276 also remain unaffected, making this the perfect time for a crisp, colorful autumn cruise through the mountains.
