What’s in a name?
Tonight I was asked why I chose the name Trinity for my private practice. Truth be told, I named my business 15 years ago and it’s been a really long time since I have thought about the why. But that’s the best part about moving to a new place and having to introduce yourself to a new community of providers; it keeps you fresh, and it reminds you where you started.
I was initially drawn to the name Trinity because I found that the number three held significant meaning in my life, both personally and professionally. Over and over again, I realized that things seemed to come in groups of three for me. And over and over again, the name just felt right.
I did have some concerns that people would only see a religious name in Trinity and be confused about what my practice really offered. While I am a Christian, I am not trained specifically as a Christian-based counselor. However, my father reminded that I am lucky to have the Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit on my side and they certainly are one of my big threes, so again, it just felt right.
I find that I typically have friendships in groups of threes. Some have gone, and some have stayed, but the number seems to always repeat.
At the time, I had three guardian angels who were all very significant to me. I certainly have more now, but losing those three at such a young age was very impactful on my life and helped determine who I would become as an adult.
Growing up on our horse farm, there were three significant horses who were some of my most influential teachers. These three are represented in my business logo.
My business has always had three main facets of what I offered to clients, and these have evolved as I have evolved. My business name has grown with me as I have grown in my profession.
At present, Trinity is really representing mind, body, and spirit for me as I am being pulled more into the integrative and functional medicine world as a way to best serve my clients who are seeking mental health.
We will see what threes will appear next…
So tell me about your business name?
