The sunshine has a quiet way of reminding the body that it’s safe to soften.
Gentle, natural light supports the nervous system by helping regulate mood, improving sleep rhythms, and encouraging the body to move out of stress and into balance. Time in the sun increases Vitamin D, supports immune function, and can ease muscle tension as warmth melts into the tissues and encourages circulation.
Sunshine also nurtures emotional well-being — lifting the spirit, grounding the mind, and inviting us to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the present moment.
Even a few minutes outdoors…
face turned toward the light…
can feel like a reset for the whole body.
Here’s to soaking in the warmth when we can — slowly, intentionally, and with gratitude

The sun was streaming through the front door this afternoon, Christmas music playing softly as friends and guests stopped in for gift certificates and local holistic gifts. It felt peaceful, joyful, and full of gratitude — a beautiful way to close out our final afternoon before the holidays. ⭐🌿
Wildflowers is now officially closed and will reopen after Christmas.

The body experiences the holidays long before the mind does.

When we rush, multitask, and push through the season, the nervous system often stays in a low-grade stress response—muscles tighten, breathing becomes shallow, digestion slows, sleep is disrupted, and pain can surface or intensify. Slowing down isn’t just a mindset shift; it’s a physiological one.
Starting mornings slowly, simplifying traditions, and creating small daily rituals help signal safety to the nervous system. This allows the body to shift out of “fight or flight” and into rest and repair. Circulation improves, muscles soften, the breath deepens, and hormones that support healing and regulation are released.

Practices like unplugging, gratitude, and presence anchor the body in the moment, reducing stress hormones and helping the immune system do its job during a season when it’s often taxed the most. Massage supports this process by offering intentional, steady touch that further calms the nervous system, reduces tension patterns, and reminds the body it doesn’t need to brace.
You don’t have to rush through this season to keep up. Your body is always listening—and it responds beautifully when given permission to slow. 🎄💕🌸

The holidays don’t have to be loud to be meaningful.
Simple, gentle rituals help signal safety to the nervous system—warmth, soft light, slow movement, and moments of presence. Massage works in much the same way, offering steady, calming touch that encourages the body to release tension, quiet the mind, and return to rest.
In the midst of the season’s busyness, may you find a few moments to soften, breathe deeply, and allow your body the care it’s been holding out for.

Warmth has a beautiful way of helping the body feel safe enough to soften.
In massage, warmth encourages muscles to relax more deeply, increases circulation, and helps calm the nervous system—allowing the body to move out of “holding” and into rest. Gentle heat can ease chronic tension, reduce pain, and support that quiet exhale so many of us are craving.
Sometimes healing doesn’t need to be forceful. Sometimes it just needs to feel warm, supported, and unhurried.

Did you know that magnesium is the 4th most abundant mineral found in the human body? It is the most critical mineral required for electrical stability of every cell in the body.

Magnesium deficiency can be linked to headaches, PMS, Depression & Anxiety, Joint Pain, and other chronic issues.

One way to add magnesium to your daily routine is to add it to your diet. Foods high in magnesium include: Almonds 19% dv, Avocado 15% dv, Black Beans 15% dv, Spinach 38% dv, Dark Chocolate 24% dv, and pumpkin seeds at 23% dv.

Another way to add magnesium to your daily routine is topically. A popular method is done by adding an oil or a spray made from magnesium chloride to the bottoms of your feet or on your legs before bedtime or even to sore, tired muscles to relieve muscle tension. It's important to know that magnesium salts of the oil solution are always looking to join up with lipids (fats, oils, waxes) before they can enter the epidermal layer. Oily skin? You're good! But if you have dry skin, you'll want to make sure you are preparing your skin for proper absorption of magnesium chloride by lubricating and conditioning your skin with plant oils and butters.

A popular magnesium remedy has often been to soak in Epsom Salts , but it is important to note that Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) is not the same as magnesium chloride. You will see some benefits from the Epsom Salt soak, but the effects do not compare to the effects you will find from using magnesium chloride. Epsom Salts are also drying and can be irritating. Magnesium chloride hexahydrate attracts water to cells, therefore making it a better choice for hydration.

When using magnesium to correct a suspected deficiency, you will want to ensure you are establishing a daily routine. The body is a self-regulating machine, so it will only take up the magnesium it can deal with at any one time. Regular, daily application is necessary for maintaining the body's supply.

Wildflowers carries several Magnesium products from local, natural crafters with different delivery methods to suit your needs. Let us know how we can help you find a product that works to suit your needs.
