A new year doesn’t magically erase what we’ve been through, but it does give us space to set intentions, create gentler mindsets, and step into the next chapter with more self-awareness.

These affirmations are reminders to move through 2026 with clarity, compassion, and intention. Take the ones that resonate, repeat them often, and let them shape the way you show up for yourself this year. ✨

Migration is more than movement. 🌎
It often carries grief, loss, courage, and the weight of starting over.
On International Migrants Day, we recognize the mental and emotional toll that displacement can bring, including trauma, isolation, and uncertainty.
Care, belonging, and understanding are essential for healing.
At The Bismillah Institute, we honor the experiences of migrants and displaced people and support mental well-being through culturally grounded care.

Rest is so much more than sleep.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the 7 types of rest and what they actually look like in real life 👇

1. Physical Rest
Giving your body a break, stretching, napping, slowing down, or getting quality sleep.

2. Mental Rest
Stepping away from constant thinking, taking pauses, reducing multitasking, and letting your mind breathe.

3. Sensory Rest
Reducing overstimulation, dimming lights, lowering noise, taking screen breaks, or sitting somewhere quiet.

4. Creative Rest
Refilling your inspiration, spending time in nature, enjoying art, or allowing space for imagination.

5. Emotional Rest
Letting yourself be honest, releasing people-pleasing, expressing your feelings, and having safe spaces to be real.

6. Social Rest
Being around people who don’t drain you, choosing connection that feels supportive instead of overwhelming.

7. Spiritual Rest
Finding meaning and grounding, prayer, reflection, mindfulness, or connecting with something bigger than yourself.

National Stress-Free Family Holidays Month reminds us that caring for our mental health is just as important as honoring traditions. Stress-free does not mean problem-free. It means choosing gentleness, balance, and care for yourself and your loved ones. ❤️🎄

At The Bismillah Institute, we support individuals and families in navigating the holiday season with compassion, balance, and care. Your well-being matters, during the holidays and beyond.

Human Rights Day reminds us that mental health is a fundamental human right.
Everyone deserves access to care, safety, dignity, and freedom from discrimination. 🕊️💛

When rights are violated, mental health suffers.
Fear, trauma, and inequality create deep emotional wounds that can last for generations.

At The Bismillah Institute, we support mental well-being by advocating for compassion, justice, and the humanity every person deserves.

Today is the International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and of the Prevention of this Crime: a day to honor the victims of genocide and mass violence, and to acknowledge the deep trauma carried by survivors, families, and entire communities.
Genocide leaves lasting psychological wounds that continue long after the violence ends.
Many today are also witnessing genocide through those reporting on-the-ground, which can bring sadness, anger, helplessness, and emotional overwhelm. Even from afar, it takes a real toll on our mental well-being.
We remember, we honor, and we stand against all forms of oppression and injustice.
Every life deserves safety, dignity, and peace.
The Bismillah Institute is here to support anyone affected, whether through lived experience, generational trauma, or the emotional weight of witnessing these tragedies.
