Riding into the New Year with Lifeskills!🎉 The holidays and transitions into the New Year can be stressful and overwhelming to parents and kiddos. Activities like carpet rides can be a great way to help give some calming sensory input to your kiddo while also providing some muscle work to regulate your sensory system as well!

A sensory seeker is a person who requires more frequency, intensity or duration of an input. Children who are seekers might have a hard time knowing how their bodies are moving and less awareness of when they’re touched or touch others. Thus, they’ll seek more sensory input. However, they only know that they need more input and will often seek too much. A few ways to help a kiddo “feel just right” are:

- Starting your day with muscle work and setting aside “movement” time throughout the day
- Animal walks
- Use an exercise ball as a seat instead of chair
- Intense spicy, sour of chewy foods
- Do activites on the floor on their tummy or beanbags

Our Story

LifeSkills is the first Sensory Integration Specialists Center in Florida founded by Sandra Wainman and Sue Wilkinson in 1993. Sandra Wainman is still treating children, supporting parents and supervising therapists. LifeSkills helped thousands of children and changed their lifes as their parents say.

Our center is located in Winter Park but there are many parents coming from other parts of Florida and also from other states/countries for intensive programs.

Hasim Bozkurt who worked with kids more then 13 years in Europe is now the Director of LifeSkills. We have a wonderful team, works for your kids in a very warm environment based on knowledge, trust and love...
