Breakthrough Behavior is now Acorn Health

Breakthrough Behavior provides applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to children and young adults. Autism knows no racial, ethnic, or social boundaries.

Breakthrough Behavior Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs are characterized by individualized services implemented by specialized multi-disciplinary team members. Interventions are evidence-based and proven to be effective in increasing skills of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. Children who qualify are diagnosed with ASD or a related disability. Breakthrough Behavior programs are designed to offer intervention services for children 2-22 years of age diagnosed under the educational or medical category of autism. Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life. The result of a neurological disorder tht affects the functioning of the brain, autism and it’s associated behaviors have been estimated to occur in as many as 1 in 68 individuals (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). Family income, lifestyle, and educational levels do not affect the chance of autism’s occurrence (Autism Society of America, 2002). Currently, there is no medical detection, treatment or cure for autism, which has reported a nearly 300+ percent increase in caseloads nationwide.

Hurricane Nicole is forecasted to make landfall early Thursday morning near West Palm Beach and Port St. Lucie, and we continue tracking the storm path as it approaches our Florida centers. At this time all centers will remain open and will provide ABA services, including Championsgate, Downtown Orlando, East Orange, Kissimmee, Longwood, and Riverview. We take the safety of our kids, families, and staff very seriously and want all to remain safe as this storm passes. Please be careful if you’re in these areas and know that we will provide updates with further information as this develops.
