The MA PGS is offered through the Massachusetts Technical Assistance Center for Problem Gambling Treatment, and is the official gambling treatment certificate of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. 🚨 New publication alert! Problem gambling is linked with increased risk for suicidality, potentially driven by feelings of social disconnection like perceived burdensomeness. We recently published a longitudinal study of highly-involved gamblers to investigate this relationship. Our study found that perceived burdensomeness helped explain the link between problem gambling and future su***de ideation, underscoring the importance of routinely screening for both social disconnection and suicidality in gambling treatment settings. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0306460325002965
