🇺🇦
Today marks four years since Russia’s full‑scale invasion of Ukraine.

🇺🇸 I recorded a short video sharing two undeniable truths, what I witnessed on the ground during my six humanitarian volunteer trips, and why Ukraine still urgently needs our support.

☎️ Action is Solidarity: Please contact your representatives. Urge them to support air defense and lift the restrictions that prevent Ukraine from protecting its people.

➡️Your voice matters more than you think.

Thank you for watching, and thank you for standing with Ukraine.

🇺🇦Unbreakable Spirit: Four Years Since Russia’s Full‑Scale Invasion of Ukraine

📌Two Undeniable Truths:

First truth:
Putin chose war. He chose to invade a sovereign nation and unleash unspeakable violence and brutality upon the Ukrainian people.

Second truth:
If Russia stops fighting, the war ends.
If Ukraine stops fighting, there will be no Ukraine.

I may not have a large platform or a government title, but as an 🇺🇸 American humanitarian volunteer and EMT‑B with six trips to Ukraine since 2022, I’ve witnessed the devastation firsthand.

➡️ From Przemyśl, Poland to Lviv, Odesa, Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Kherson, I’ve built trusted friendships with Ukrainians and volunteers from around the world—people whose courage and humanity have changed me forever.

Over these four years, in every city and village I’ve visited, I’ve seen Ukrainians striving to live with dignity and normalcy—even under daily attacks. That determination is a profound act of defiance, a refusal to surrender to terrorism.

🎯And let’s be clear: Russia’s deliberate targeting of civilians is a grave violation of international law. The cost is real. The trauma is daily.

🇺🇦To my Ukrainian friends:

🗣️Some of you are now parents. Some have become soldiers. Many—if not all—have lost someone you love. My heartfelt condolences go out to every family grieving a life stolen by this aggression.

I will never forget the courage, compassion, and resilience of the Ukrainian people. 👉🏽 But courage alone is not enough. Ukraine needs more than our prayers—it needs our policy. Ukraine needs support to survive—and to win.

☎️✍🏽 If you live in the United States, the European Union, or any allied nation, please call, write, mail, and tag your representatives.
Demand continued support for air defense and the lifting of restrictions that limit Ukraine’s ability to protect its people.

🙏🏽 Lastly, to the families of Ukraine’s defenders:

Your loved ones’ bravery inspires the world. Their heroism will never be forgotten.🕯️

🌎 Let us stand together in unwavering solidarity with the people of Ukraine.
Every act of solidarity—from donations to conversations—truly makes a positive difference.

📣 Fitness Underreported Wins That Change Lives❤️

👉🏽One of the most underreported benefits of physical activity at any age is the quiet, everyday improvement in quality of life. After 21 years as a fitness professional, I’ve learned that the “small wins” are often the biggest victories.🏆

A common one my clients share with me is this👇🏾

😀 “Coach, I can put my socks on without struggling!”

🎯It might sound simple, but it’s not small.

📌For many, this becomes a struggle as we age or if we become sedentary. It requires a combination of:
• Core stability to hold the posture.
• Hip mobility to reach the foot.
• Balance if you’re doing it standing.

✅These moments happen more often than people realize, and every time a client shares one, we celebrate together. Because these wins are empowering and conducive to healthy aging with dignity.

➡️What’s a "small" win you've noticed lately? Let’s celebrate it in the comments below. 👇🏾

Coach Julio’s Dilemma: When your amazing fitness class knows your weakness 🍪

😀Before teaching my SPARTA Strength class at the Milano Senior Center today, one of our rockstar members, Donna, surprised me with some Girl Scout cookies. She knows I’m a huge fan, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the thoughtfulness.

Now the real challenge begins… the portion control test 🥛👀

🇺🇸 : Black history is American history.

📣 “All of us are standing on someone else’s shoulders. Someone else that opened the door and paved the way. And so, we have to understand that we cannot give up the fight, whether we see the fruits of our labor or not. You have a responsibility to open the door to keep this moving forward.” — Ruby Bridges

📌 During these challenging times, marked by the whitewashing of history, voter suppression, the erasure of DEI initiatives, a resurgence of systemic inequities, and the attempt to normalize the dehumanization of fellow beings, her words still call us to action.

📚 Ruby Bridges, born September 8, 1954, is a civil rights advocate and author whose courage reshaped American history. At just six years old, she integrated an all-white school in the American South, walking past mobs of hatred with extraordinary strength. She never missed a single day of school.

🎯Her story is not just history—it is a reminder that the power to create change begins within each of us.

🇺🇸🇩🇴 As a first-generation Dominican American and the son of immigrants, I am acutely aware that the doors open to me today were forced open by the sacrifices of Black leaders like Ruby Bridges and the courage of those—known and unknown—who fought for justice and equality. Their sacrifices created the foundation for the rights, visibility, and opportunities of all marginalized and immigrant communities. I don’t just honor this history—like many other Americans, I live the benefits of it every day.

🗳️ Join me in being the change to make a difference—not just for today. We speak out, we show up, and we vote so the younger generation can grow up in a country where their dreams are never limited by fear, injustice, or oppression.🗽

🕊️ Shared Humanity at the Malden Warming Center

🗣️ Tonight during my volunteer shift, a guest told me that to volunteer here, we must be “special” people.

🤝🏽 I shared with him that it isn’t about being special. It’s about our shared humanity.

Then I asked him, if he had the opportunity, would he volunteer?

👉🏽 Without missing a beat, he said he certainly would.

🎯 That answer says everything about the dignity and humanity that lives in our unhoused neighbors, so often overlooked.

✅ The capacity to serve and the need to be served often live in the same human heart, just separated by circumstance.

Fit Fact: Progressive overload works at any age. 👇🏾

From box… to step… to the floor. My 67‑year‑young online ⭐️rockstar client earned TWO full pushups after years of steady, patient work.

🎯Each level increased the percentage of bodyweight she pressed — a powerful mix of progressive overload, neural adaptation, and strength training that helps slow age‑related muscle loss (Sarcopenia).

She’s an inspiration and proof that strength has no age limit.💪🏾
