Lainee’s Story

Lainee Herbert is the proud owner & creator of Bu Baby Concierge, and is a highly sought after certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, Infant Care Specialist, Night/Baby Nurse, Sleep Coach, & Childbirth Educator. She offers Placenta Encapsulation services, Baby Shower Planning, Nursery Design, Baby Proofing, Baby Gear Assembly, and many other Baby Planner & Concierge services; including extensive experience in high profile/celebrity families. Her overall goals are to provide customized care for each individual family, to support, educate, and empower women and parents, and to help create healthier babies and families everywhere. Lainee was born in Southern California but grew up traveling all over the world as the eldest of three children in a military family. She has studied Child Development, Early Childhood Education, and Child Psychology. She has also taken several intensive Self Awareness and Self Empowering workshops, and has experience working with trauma survivors, and young and/or single Mothers. Lainee’s passion for unique, organic, natural, hip, products and exclusive services heightened 18 years ago when she was a freelance aesthetician and makeup artist for the famous Fred Segal Santa Monica Apothecary. She was involved in product purchasing, product research & development, and marketing for multiple dermatological, and natural product lines across the country. She has been trained in over 50 different product lines while working with everyone from the creators, CEOs, lab technicians, buying teams, and consumers to find the best products possible for her & her family. She is a proud advocate for educating parents on how to be GREENER and more natural in your nursery, homes, for your body, your family, and our planet. Lainee has over 25 years of experience with infants, twins, toddlers, children, breastfeeding, growing and cooking local organic foods, and natural and environmentally conscious products for your home, body, and baby. She has a knack for researching and finding the latest, most natural, ethically produced, and eco-friendly baby gear, products, and services available. This is not just her career, this is her true passion. The concept for Bu Baby Concierge bloomed after Lainee headed for one of her many weekly trips to the local store. Rushing in to get that ONE item she needed, she was stopped by an obviously desperate new father in the diaper aisle. The dark circles, tousled hair, and shirt half tucked in gave him away immediately! The poor man was looking up into a mountain of options for baby supplies, and didn’t have a clue as to what he needed. A few questions, and fifteen minutes later the man was happily rushing to pay for his newborn size diapers, natural wipes, diaper rash cream, appropriately sized bottles/ni***es/pacifiers, burp cloths, and even a relaxing candle for his wife that she helped him select. Time and time again this happened with expecting parents, new moms and dads, and even grandparents when she realized there was an obvious need for an experienced, knowledgeable, and super savvy Baby Planner! Lainee is an invaluable resource that offers parents suggestions & tips on things as simple as what is the lightest, most durable, yet still stylish stroller- to the more detailed information on how to create an entirely eco-friendly, chemical free nursery & layette. Most importantly; she is able to tell you specifically what you really DO and DO NOT need when preparing for your baby. Her experience, patience, vast knowledge, continuous research, and attention to detail allow her the ability to work within any situation & to cater to each unique family which eases stress, and creates a positive, informed transition into parenthood. Lainee lives in Malibu, California and has four children; Emma, 22; Chandler, 19; Dillinger, 14; and Lincoln, 9. She services Malibu, Santa Monica, Culver City, West LA, Manhattan Beach, Ventura, & the San Fernando & Conejo Valley areas.
