The PDSES (Parent-Directed Special Education Services) Grant in NY offers eligible families a one-time $1,500 grant for supplemental educational goods/services for students with disabilities (IDEA), used via state-approved vendors for things like tutoring, therapy, or tech. While applications often open in February and are first-come, first-served, it's crucial to check the NYSED website for current IDEA grant info, as the PDSES program is tied to federal IDEA funds (like in Texas, noted in search results), so NY's implementation details & timing are specific.
What it is:
A $1,500 grant for parents of students receiving special education services (IDEA).
Funds are for specific educational materials, technology, or services (speech therapy, tutoring) from approved vendors, not direct cash.
Who is Eligible (General Criteria):
Students PreK-12 with an IEP (Individualized Education Program).
Must be enrolled in a public school.
One-time grant per student.
How to Apply (General Process):
Applications typically open in early February and are first-come, first-served.
Use an online portal (like ClassWallet in some cases) to access funds and vendors.
Comment "PDSES" on specific posts (like on Instagram) or visit the NYSED Special Education page for official links.
Key NYS Resource:
New York State Education Department (NYSED) Special Education website is the primary source for official application links and guidelines, especially concerning Federal IDEA Grants.

A child is not yet emotionally grounded. Helping kids build a strong foundation for emotional and sensory development is the key to emotional maturity.

Reactions to these types of sensory triggers typically means the child has some type of disconnection in the brain. The child may be “stuck” on the right hemisphere (emotional side) and can’t seem to fix it on their own.

Kids who “live” on the emotional side of their brain often experience:

😫Emotional meltdowns or tantrums no longer age appropriate
😫Have high anxiety and separation anxiety
😫Distractions to sensory stimuli within their environment
😫Trouble self-regulating and doesn’t have strategies to calm their brain/body

To help the child establish a better emotional foundation, we need to build bridges from the right side of the brain to the left (logical thinking) for better regulation.

To find out the 4 levels that lead to emotional grounding and the important method used to get kids emotionally grounded, leave a comment here 👇and we’ll send you the link or you can find it in the profile.
