We are now enrolling a phase 3 study for patients who have been diagnosed within the last 6 months with Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) and have signs of liver fibrosis. The study medication, Obeticholic Acid or OCA, is a modified (man-made) version of a compound in the liver called a bile acid. Bile acids are used by the body to help with digestion and have additional effects on liver function. The purpose of this study is to find out how safe and effective OCA may be in delaying specific medical conditions or health related issues that can occur in patients with NASH.
