Hi all,
This past year has stretched me (and I am sure many of you) beyond what I thought was possible both personally and professionally. I am ready to re-emerge and get back to some of the work that I started here.
I released my course Something Is Up With My Kid a little over a year ago. Literally my course went live the same week the pandemic hit… talk about timing. When the pandemic hit and all kids were required to do virtual school, I knew it was not the right time to push the message of the detrimental impacts of screen time on mental health. None of us had any other choice. More than that, however, we all had to survive. We had to do whatever we had to do to make it through.
Over this past year the problems with screen time have not disappeared because we were forced to be on screens. The problems are still here, if even more prominent.
My original goal with Something Is Up With My Kid was to create a paid course to educate parents, kids, and teens on how screen time impacts us, the reason it impacts us, and what to do about it. In light of the past year, I am releasing my entire course on YouTube for free: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC93cb1FjD5pquuV2R8QykDg
If you have a child or adolescent, this information is essential. My course covers the topics of:
Life dissatisfaction
Disruptive behavior
Loneliness
Poor sleep
Slow to mature
Social skills deficits
I have released the first video and will be posting the rest of them over the coming weeks. To make sure you do not miss any of this important information please subscribe to my YouTube channel and spread the word.
With Love,
Dr. B
