Two years of Blossom!!

What started as a dream has truly come to life in the most beautiful way. In just two short years, we’ve opened our very first office space at The Therapy Hub and grown our team to three incredible, dedicated employees. Watching this growth has been nothing short of amazing.

But what means the most is the community we’ve built along the way. We’ve had the honor of supporting so many wonderful children and families, celebrating big milestones, working through challenges, and sharing so many meaningful moments together.

To every family who has trusted us with their children, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support, trust, and commitment are the reason Blossom continues to grow.

Blossom was built on the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, and we feel so lucky to be part of each child’s journey.

We are so excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to continue Blossoming together šŸ«¶šŸ»

Bilateral coordination means using both sides of the body together in a coordinated way.

Children use bilateral coordination for:

āœ‚ļø Cutting with scissors
⚽ Catching a ball
🧩 Stabilizing paper while writing
šŸ‘– Pulling up pants
🧱 Building with blocks

If bilateral coordination is difficult, kids may appear clumsy or avoid certain tasks.

Occupational therapy helps strengthen body coordination, timing, and motor planning through fun play-based activities.

When children struggle with ADLs, it can impact independence and confidence.

šŸ’” Important to know:
Many children can show both types of behaviors depending on the situation.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be diving into some common topics we discuss with families in pediatric occupational therapy 🌼

Stay tuned as we break down:

✨ Sensory seeking vs. sensory sensitive behaviors
✨ Helping kids regulate their emotions
✨ Developmental milestones parents often worry about
✨ Using visual schedules to support daily routines

Our goal is to make these topics easy to understand and practical for everyday life, so families feel more confident supporting their child’s development.

Sensory processing is how the brain:

-Interprets what we see
-Processes what we hear
-Responds to touch
-Understands body movement and balance

Some children experience sensory sensitivities or sensory seeking behaviors, which can affect:

• Attention
• Emotional regulation
• Play
• Tolerance to clothing, noise, or textures

Occupational therapy helps children better organize and respond to sensory information, so they can feel calmer and more comfortable in their environment.
