Some of my clients might be interested in this new book!

Happy year of the horse everyone :)

🐴🔥 IT'S HERE. 🔥🐴

The Year of the Fire Horse starts today. It only comes around every 60 years.

And today — pre-orders officially open for my second book:
Equine Functional Nutrition: Understanding Root Cause to Restore Vitality

I wrote this book because I was tired of watching horses suffer from nutrition advice that doesn't work. Tired of seeing owners spend hundreds a month on supplements that do nothing because nobody ever told them what the actual problem was.

This book changes that.

This book is for:
→ The owner tired of throwing supplements at problems with no answers
→ The person who KNOWS something is wrong but can't get a single professional to figure it out
→ The horse lover who wants to understand WHY — not just mask symptoms
→ The vet, the farrier, the bodyworker who wants a functional framework that actually connects the dots
→ Anyone who believes their horse deserves better than minimum requirements and maximum confusion

Two years of writing. Twenty-three years in veterinary medicine. Clinical work with 1000+ horses across five countries. One mission:
Help you understand your horse's body so you can actually help your horse.

When you pre-order through my website, you'll receive:
🔥 A signed copy with a personalized note from me to you
🔥 A FREE digital copy of the Won't-Thrive Twenty-Five™ — 25 ingredients that should NEVER be in your horse's feed bucket
🔥 A FREE digital copy of the Functional Fifteen™ — 15 foundational ingredients that actually support your horse from the inside out

⚠️ These bonuses are ONLY available when you pre-order directly through my website — not through Amazon, not through any other retailer. Website pre-orders only.

The book officially releases worldwide March 7th!

The Fire Horse represents freedom, vitality, and unstoppable energy.

Let's restore that in your horse. Starting today.

👉 Pre-order link is in the FIRST COMMENT below ⬇️

Tag a horse owner who needs this book. Share this post if you know someone who's been struggling with their horse's health and can't get answers. That's who I wrote this for.

🐴 Follow this page — I'll be sharing free content from the book, behind-the-scenes of the launch, and resources leading up to release day that you won't find anywhere else.

(***For any orders outside the US, please send us a PM and we will get you taken care of! Our website currently doesn’t allow international orders, but we can place the order manually!)

Note: The client’s name and identifying details have been changed to protect privacy.

Holly is a young woman who has lived with an extraordinary degree of loss, largely through a series of sudden deaths involving family members and close friends. Although she had previously engaged in several trauma-focused therapies, including EMDR, she continued to experience profound grief, loneliness, and emotional pain. She described her inner world as one in which “loneliness is haunting me,” alongside a deeply ingrained belief that she was “unlovable.”

Absolutely delighted to share this 10 minute client interview! This client was a referral and came to me with a 30 year history of night terrors and sleep paralysis.

Over a period of seven months, we had about 9 sessions of hypnosis and three sessions of IEMT for, in his words, life changing results.

This client struggled with night terrors, and sleep paralysis for years, experiencing episodes 2-3 times per week, with increased frequency during high-stres...

A rider told me yesterday: "I used to love riding. Now I spend the whole time waiting for something to go wrong."

If this resonates, you're not alone.

Fear after a fall (or near-miss, or even just watching someone else fall) doesn't mean you're not brave enough. It means your brain is doing exactly what it's designed to do: protect you.

The problem is, our brains are overly cautious. They generalize. One spook in the corner of the arena? Now EVERY corner feels dangerous. One bolt on a windy day? Now wind = threat.

Your conscious mind knows this doesn't make sense. But fear doesn't live in the logical part of your brain.

Here's the truth: You can't think your way out of this. You have to train your nervous system to feel safe again.

Let this amazing client tell you all about it: https://youtu.be/oKibnmfNbgE?si=dha5dm5jL1W9Wyya

And yes, it's absolutely possible to get back to riding with joy instead of dread.

What do you miss most about riding before fear took over? 🐴

The 3am wake-up isn't random!

If you're waking up between 2-4am regularly, your body isn't broken. It's actually following a pattern.

Your cortisol (stress hormone) naturally dips to its lowest point around 2-3am, then starts rising again to prepare you for morning. If you're dealing with chronic stress or anxiety, this natural rise can be enough to wake you up.

Here's what's NOT helpful:

Lying there getting frustrated
Checking the time repeatedly
Worrying about how tired you'll be tomorrow

Here's some tricks (that actually work):

Breath work that keeps your mind busy
A brain dump before bed -- get the thoughts out of your mind BEFORE you head off to sleep
Remind yourself that even if you're not sleeping, you're resting

Your brain needs to relearn that bed = sleep, not bed = lying awake worrying.

You're not doing it wrong. Your nervous system just needs retraining.

Anyone else have a specific wake-up time their brain loves? Drop it in the comments.

Reflecting on the process, Holly shared:

“For the first time, I realise that I have the tools I need to meet challenges as they arise. I feel more at peace with day-to-day life, and genuinely excited about what lies ahead.”

🐴 Your riding instructor can't fix this (and it's not their job to)
You've probably heard:

"Just be confident!"
"The horse knows if you're scared!"
"You need to trust your horse more!"

All technically true. None of it helpful when your heart is racing and your hands are shaking.
Here's why: Riding fear isn't a skill problem. It's a nervous system problem.
Your instructor can teach you how to sit properly, how to use your aids, how to handle a spook. They're brilliant at that.

But they can't rewire the part of your brain that's screaming "DANGER!" every time you approach a canter transition or ride past something spooky.
That requires a different kind of work. Work at the subconscious level where fear actually lives.

The good news? Once you address it at that level, all those riding skills your instructor taught you suddenly become SO much easier to use.
Have you ever felt guilty for being nervous even though you "know" you're safe? 💭

"Just relax and you'll fall asleep" is the worst advice ever!

Trying to force yourself to relax is like trying to force yourself not to think about a pink elephant.
The harder you try, the more tense you get. Then you're lying there frustrated that you CAN'T relax, which makes you even less relaxed.

Sound familiar?

Your sleep system works best when you're not thinking about it at all. The moment you start "trying" to sleep, you've activated your conscious control system - which is the exact opposite of what sleep needs.

Think about the best sleep you ever had. I bet you weren't lying there thinking "I'm going to sleep so well tonight."
Instead of trying to relax:

Focus your attention on something neutral (counting breaths, body scan)
Let thoughts pass without engaging with them
Trust your body knows how to sleep (because it does)

Sleep is something you allow, not something you do.

What's the weirdest sleep advice someone's given you?

Why your horse can feel your nerves before you even realize you're nervous:

Your heart rate increases slightly. Your breathing gets shallow. Your muscles tense just a fraction.

You might not notice it yet, but your horse already has.

Horses detect heart rate changes through the saddle and can sense tension in your seat and legs instantly. They're reading you like a book you don't even know you're writing.

The good news? Once you understand this, you can use it to your advantage. When you learn to regulate your own nervous system, your horse relaxes too.

It's not about "being brave" or "pushing through." It's about understanding the conversation your body is having with your horse, and learning to change what you're saying.

What signs do you notice in your horse when you're nervous?
