In working with participants on the Evergreen unit, music therapist Rachel tapped into favorite memories of the season of Fall by using visual props and musical prompts. After reviewing a few songs about the season, participants gave ideas to be included in their own song about Fall by using the structure of another familiar tune, The 12 days of Christmas. Their final product, The 12 Days of Fall, included elements of different holidays and experiences singular to this special season with each line being inspired by a response from a participant.

Today, as part of our Stronger Together group, our therapist engaged residents in a fun and creative Halloween-themed session! The focus was on enhancing fine motor skills through hands-on crafting activities. Residents had a wonderful time making spooky Halloween crafts, sharing laughter, and showcasing their creativity. It was heartwarming to see everyone working together and enjoying the festive spirit while strengthening coordination and dexterity. 🎃👻
