- Mrs. Dowdy founded the school’s Kindness Club a few years ago, which began as positive sticky notes on bathroom mirrors and high-five Fridays. During holidays, this club also provides families with large meals and gifts.

- Kate is an excellent School Counselor. She takes on all responsibilities with no complaints. We call her a SUPER COUNSELOR because she’s usually the first to finish all the tasks that we have to complete. She went over and beyond last school year to ensure a transfer student was able to graduate on time. Due to the student’s lack of transferring classes, it seemed almost impossible. However, with Kate researching every possible avenue for him to complete the classes needed and the student’s willingness to put in the work, the student graduated on time. We were all so ecstatic for the student! We were even more proud to call Kate a colleague! Kate is definitely a School Counselor who cares about the overall well being of all of her students. Go Kate!

What positive quality did they demonstrate? (e.g., teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, creativity)
- Problem solving, teamwork with other stakeholderslders

What was the impact of their action? (e.g., helped the team, saved the project, boosted morale)
- Kate’s actions allowed the student to walk across the stage on time even though it seemed impossible. The student was overcome with joy when he completed his last assignment and was told he had met the requirements to graduate on time. We were all so excited for him and even shed some tears. We consider a victory for one counselor to be a victory for us all!
